Attended a 35-person workshop in the 80's ... Deming was the instructor ... brilliant, but had absolutely no patience for those that (from his perspective) had no clue ... his "handler" had to constantly calibrate his demeanor. Yes, the Japanese were smart enough to understand and adopt his approach ... while the Big-3 continued to deliver new vehicles with missing parts.

In terms of data sample size, the common generational platform(s) do offer additional insight ... the 4-Runner, FJ Cruiser and Tacoma ... with the 4-Runner Limited being the closest from a hardware standpoint.

Sometimes folks with very high intellects are not so capable of dialing it down a bit.
