Activating TPMS Sensors
I purchased F-sport wheels and Michelin tires as a second set of wheel/tires. I installed the OEM TPMS sensors that were recommended by the instructions for the F-Sport wheels. Once installed I went into vehicle settings and hit the “Change Wheel Set” option. I drove at highway speeds for about 60 mins and the sensors did not register. I’ve tried this twice with no luck. I then tried to activate the sensors by letting air out of each wheel for about 15 seconds and refilling them, then driving again - and still no luck.
I took it to the dealer and the service advisor brought a TMPS tool and tried to read the sensors but got nothing. I assume they are dormant and need to be activated, but the advisor, who didn’t seem to know much, said there’s no such think as activating the sensors.
Any advice on how to correct this? The service advisor wants me to schedule it for service, which is about a month out and I need to leave it with them for a full day.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Are these brand new OEM TPMS sensors you just recently purchased?

Were they purchased through a dealer or authorized Toyota/Lexus vendor? Do you still have a box with listed part number on them?

I don’t think frequency has changed from 315Mhz but ‘20+ do have a different PN for sensors. The self program TPWS system went live with ‘20 model year on the 460.

This could be a compatibility issue
