2013 AC issue - driver's side warm, Passenger side OK
I have a 2013 lexus GX 460. If I set both passenger and driver's temps to the same. ie 70, the driver's side is about 10 degrees or more warmer than the Passenger side.
I'm not sure but I think that this does not always happen.
From what I can see, it might be a bad blend door actuator for the driver's side

- Where is the driver's side actuator located? Is that behind the glove box?
- How difficult is it to get to it?
- I've seen threads where people try to disassemble and reassemble them. Has anyone done this?
- Where can I find a part number for the actuator?
- Are the passenger and driver's side the same or different part numbers
- I did a quick search of amazon but didn't find any compatible actuators. Some people suggested junk yards. Are there any other sources and would this be avail from a dealer?

I was playing with it a little this afternoon. I tried cycling the temp from lo to hi and back a couple of times. It SEEMS to be blowing cooler air.
I'm going to try to find a replacement actuator in case it continues to give me problems. I would appreciate any help with sourcing that.

You need to download the service manual and go through the methodical diagnostic tree. You will need a scan tool that is capable of reading the HVAC DTC codes.
Forget about buying anything from Amazon or a junk yard. You want OEM parts for this (Bell Lexus).
For reference, here are the part numbers.
87106-60220 HVAC Air Inlet Door Actuator Left
87106-60230 HVAC Air Inlet Door Actuator Right
These parts are not cheap so I would not replace them until you are sure they are bad. It could also be the amplifier. That is why you need to go through the diagnostics.

Thanks - I will download the manual and go from there.
I mentioned in a previous post that I cycled the driver's side from lo to hi about a dozen times. Took a drive after that. I didn't have my laser thermometer but the driver's side was almost as cool as the passenger side. If it stays that way it buys me some time.
Thanks again.
