My dad just traded in his 2012 LS460 (his 3rd LS; as he's had all the previous LS's) for a pretty sweet GX460, 2023, white, 16k miles.
But, it has the 19" wheels, front/rear lip (less approach angle), etc. (most likely a Luxury model?)
Took a while (+3 months) to finally find a desired white one we were hunting for w/ low miles, good condition, good price, etc. (noticed they always get sold within 1-5 days; or, they were too far away to check out).
Anyways... for the past couple months, I have been researching/lusting for nicer AT type tires for the GX (and also nicer wheels; but, he'll just keep the stock 19" wheels, as he's not really into modding cars... and the stock 19s honestly impressed me too w/ their looks, gloss black/charcoal color and slight-concave spokes [and I'm very strict on style too - only accepting the stylings/designs of Rays/Volk, SSR, Weds, Advan, etc.).
I also used to be into off-roading (SoCal trails) in the early '00s w/ a Tacoma Prerunner and Tundra. They both had BFG ATs of that era/time. Haven't really been into cars/trucks ever since, since I have been living in various cities w/ no cars for 1-2 decades.
Of course, I've read this thread a hundred times, as well as have seen many YT videos of bigger tires on GX460 (no lift).
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gx-...on-thread.html
But, wasn't expecting to get a GX460 w/ the bigger 19" wheels. So, that threw me a curve-ball; as I noticed there's not even many tire/brand/model options in the stock 265/55-19 size (like zero AT tire options).
For that oem 265/55-19 size, I think I narrowed the best tire option down to the Michelin LTX M/S2 tires.
Plenty of threads/blogs (like on forum.expeditionportal and other off-road forums), say these unassuming All-Seasons perform just as well as true AT tires on any trails, while giving the important on-road handing/comfort characteristics of an all-season. Of course, they don't look "cool" as ATs ...but, at least they do have some slightly more aggressive shoulders/sidewalls than typical all-seasons.
Now, my questions please... what is available if I wanted to "up size" or go "one size up" in diameter for the stock 19" wheels?
I've searched Tire Rack, Americas Tire, Costco Tire... and, I guess no one makes a one-size-up 265/60-19 tire![Frown](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
...is this true? ...does anyone make a 265/60-19 tire??
Next, I checked 275/55, and I see there's actually a couple/few options for a 275/55-19 (but, still, no ATs tho).
So, so far, the Closest I have found for a one-size-up is a 275/55-19 tire... which, is actually, only half-size-up (30.91" vs. OEM 30.48" ...so, a 0.43" taller diameter [better than nothing I guess]; also, obviously a wider/chunkier tire, which will look beefier and fill the wheel well better I think.
So, is a 275/55-19 tire the best and/or only option for a one-size-up tire for the 19" wheels?
So far, the most interesting looking tire I've found in 275/55-19, w/ possibly AT tire capabilities, is the Yokohama Geolander CV 4S. (unfortunately, Michelin LTX M/S2 aren't available in 275/55-19, I think).
Also, the Geolander CV 4S have a pretty aggressive/"cool" looking shoulder/sidewall (even more-so than the Michelin LTX M/S2) ... much more than any other all-season in this particular 275/55-19 size (unless there's other idk about yet).
Any other options, tire brands/makes/models anyone can recommend?
Would love to hear any insight, experience, opinions on tire options for the OEM 19" wheels.
I know going 18" wheels will give you a Ton more options, real options, with proper AT tire choices too. But, we really wanna keep the 19" wheels (they are, after all, pretty nice looking and also brand new... and we are also the frugal/cheap type of people).
Any help highly appreciated!

The 19" is a "street only" option as you have seen via your searches.
When most of the GXs don't see dirt until their 2nd or 3rd owner, this isn't very surprising given the initial target buyer Lexus was aiming for.

/\ This. I like my 19's, too, but my '23 is my "nice car", and lives only on the road. If you want to wheel it, swap on some wheels with better AT choices.

Yeah... 19" is def a street or luxury car tire size, in terms of looks and tire-options. And getting 18" wheels (or smaller) is the only real option, if wanting to up-size and/or for AT options.
I think I'll just settle on the Defender LTX M/S2 for the mean time in stock 19" oem size.
At least that tire has really excellent reviews and is close to as capable and durable as many real AT tires... all while being a true, comfy, quiet all-season.
And the newer LTX M/S2 variant has some pretty cool lookin shoulders/sidewalls, almost like a mild AT ...really reminds me of the milder-sidewalled BFG AT KO of the early '00s when I had them; which I actually prefer the look of, much more than the modern KO2-KO3s that look more like mud tires nowadays.
After not being into off-roading since the early '00s, I was really surprised how much they've (and pretty much all other ATs) changed.... everything looks super aggressive now, almost like mud/rock tires, lol.
If I wanna up-size in the future, then maybe a used set of oem 18" wheels, or even some nice Ray's Gram Lights or other kinda jdm wheels.

The Defender is a really great tire but I have run them along with true AT tires and sure, on the trails in optimal conditions they do well enough. As soon as you get even minimally muddy conditions you may as well have drag slicks. Even most AT tires don't do well in deep/significant mud but they are far better than the Defenders. To me the Defender is a tire suited to someone who does 97% of their driving on road and the 3% they do off road is just fire roads and well manicured dirt roads.

Just noticed a new 255/65-19 size (32.1") for the new Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 has been added to Tirerack...
This size was unavailable just a few weeks ago.
Edit:
Just emailed them through their website link. Maybe if we can get them more emails, they will release even more sizes for the Defender LTX M/S2.
I requested for:
265/60-19 (31.52")
265/65-19 (32.56")
275/60-19 (31.99")
