Default Got stuck in the sand today. (facepalm)

Coming back from Ocean City MD with family, we saw a section of the beach (near Dewey for East Coasters) along the road that had a few jeeps. Kids yelled, "let's drive on the beach!"
Long story short, between a lot of backing up and moving forward, turning the wheel, I managed to break free and using 4-LO steam rolled out and back down the hill. The truck does have aftermarket Yokohama AT's which probably saved us. And she was pushing too
The engine/transmission was revving very hard, and a warning indicator came on a few minutes later and said "transmission fluid temp high" or something to the effect and then went away. Truck drove home just fine. With only 42k miles, would you consider changing the t-fluid? I know they are sealed / lifetime supposedly, just looking for any input or similar experiences. Cheers.

We all learn from mistakes, some learn more than others ...

If this was your only time "pushing" the GX, I would wait to flush around 60K,, at least thats what I'm planning

A drain and fill of the transmission pan isn't too hard and that's what I'd do to at least check on the condition of the fluid. There's a very lengthy thread here on how to do it. The critical part is that the fluid level needs to be checked once it reaches a certain temp, which I think is 115F. I got my GX used at 33k. I changed out all the fluids to baseline everything for peace of mind. I was surprised at how dark the AT fluid looked at just 33k compared to new.

Yes change the fluid. Better yet, install the OEM auxiliary transmission cooler as discussed elsewhere in the forum.
