I checked the service records on the GX and found a few codes, but it looks like the main culprit was a rusty connector pin on the sensor (codes C1831 and C1832) which lead to C1851. I checked under the driver's side and there are all new lines. This weekend I will probably pop off the cover for the sensor and take a deeper look.
I am also looking into a possible brake issue. The pedal seems a quite soft and I suspect air in the brakes lines or old fluid. Just for reference, does your brake pedal feel soft or is it quite firm? It is my first GX so I am not sure what is normal, I am assuming a soft pedal is not normal.
Any insight on the pedal is greatly appreciated. Thanks
Brake pedal feels soft, took me a bit to get used to. Think it is normal, my mechanic said everything looks good. you also hear a hissing sound every time you brake

Bled the brakes and replaced with new fluid. The pedal feels much better now. The old fluid looked like apple juice, probably was the original fluid with the vehicle.
I’ve driven Honda Pilots for over 500,000 miles. Finally made the upgrade and it feels great. 2023 Premium model, Silver ext with black interior. Added a trailer hitch(easy DIY install BTW) and all weather mats.
Driving off dealer lot. Looks good next to my wife’s 2005 LS430. Hitch install was easy, but location of wire connection is a stretch so I need to modify my trailer wire.
Just took delivery yesterday…traveled 250 miles to get it, from a dealer motivated to sell and deal. Was bouncy in the way home, then later discovered all of my tires were 8-10 pounds heavy. I know gas mileage sucks and it requires premium gas…
One thing I plan to mod, as soon as possible, is swapping out all interior lights with LEDs…then anything exterior. I travel 2600 miles a month for my job, and wish I could find a front bra for it, just when traveling, to cut way down on the big and road debris smacking my bumper and that big azz grill.
Having it professionally Ceramic coated after any paint correction/clay barring. Yes, new vehicles need both. This will at least help some on the black paint staying nicer.
Any suggestions are welcome. I won’t off road it any. Going to replace the Bridgestones with Michelin LTXs very soon to help soften the ride.
Thanks!

I’ve heard mixed reviews about them. I’d probably use Xpel. But I care more about ceramic coating…and I’d not feel comfortable putting that over PPF. If they had PPF for the entire front end and grill, I’d consider it. I drive 2600 miles a month, and rock chips suck, but the bug suicides and bird crap are much worse, on the road.
Not saying I’m right. I’d rather have ceramic, followed by a full bra on the front end on my long drives, like I had on my Murano and other vehicles. Seems the bra makers are scared to make one for the GX. For some reason.
Picked up a ‘22 GX460 a week ago.

Just scheduled a ceramic coat. I’ve owned 4 Toyotas, and decided to step up to a Lexus. Build and ride quality is outstanding. I’m glad I made the move.
Just picked up a 2021 premium plus with captains chairs with 37k miles for 49k, decided to splurge and traded in our 2015 gs350 fsport as we needed an suv.
Just scooped up a ‘23 EWP/Sepia w/Premium Plus. Love the color of this interior! Happy I was able to find this one specifically - because I 100% didn’t want second row captain’s chairs. Not for me.
Traded a ‘21 4Runner Venture…and I do miss it. I’d added tons of additions with my own hands and I’m looking forward to doing the same with this new rig.
Here’s to new adventures here in AZ and to many questions about lifts, tires, oil changes and premium fuel 😂
I might be the only one who is sad to be here, as it really seems like an incredible car. My cousin waited multiple months to get her GX460 and, within a couple days of receiving it, lost her husband in a terrible boating accident. Thankfully, she is okay, but doesn't need the car they'd just taken delivery of. Here are some pictures for posterity, but it doesn't seem like I'm able to post in the marketplace (guessing I have insufficient karma or something?). Anyway, enjoy all of your respective rides in good health.
Hello from sunny Frederick, CO - I'm FOGeologist, and I picked up this Starfire Pearl/Ecru(?) Premium for a reasonable price from a Mercedes dealer in Denver on Wednesday.
The truck has only 50,500 miles on it, and is in great shape even though it was used as a kid-hauler. I doubt it's been off-road except for the odd church parking lot. It came as a two-owner, with voluminous maintenance records. Paint was dirty with some mild white-colored overspray which came off really easily under a clay bar (pretty sure it was house paint) to reveal brilliant pearl underneath. Interior was pretty darned clean but required some scrubbing of the leather seats to meet my own (unreasonably) high standards.
I am new to this forum and hope to learn more about modding and maintaining my rig.
