Hello and nice to meet you!
Be warned I am VERY new to this and am learning. I just traded in my 2015 SR5 $runner for a:
2013 GX 460 , unsure of the package { Dealer dressed up...vehicle originally from FL, ZERO rust on undercarriage
dealership fresh paint cement / interior: ecru/brown
Navigation..unsure of sound package
Park assist , electric 3rd row, three zone climate. My first vehicle with vented and heated seats! and I finally got a sunroof
There is a 2.5 in lift ( I think) old man emu coils, Bilstein shocks and struts
currently working on deciding on a chop to either front or back wheel well { there is rubbing atm. 35 in wheels
*******************************************************************************************************************************************
INTERESTED IN fixing / modifying :
1. Have dogs NEED coverage for backside of second row bench. Found a great cargo liner for third row and trunk space at WeatherTech
2. To Chop or not to Chop to fix rubbing (has been aligned twice
I welcome your knowledge, ideas, and innovative suggestions. I am eager to learn on how to take care of this "Baby Cruiser"

My hubby sold his 1998 ****** Jeep and then got a 2008 GX470 ... rode so smooth that it inspired me to trade-in my 4Runner.
It was great for working on it, but once it was moded he could not do much about the quality of the ride

That is unusual- what is the vehicle’s history? Lexus paint is typically exceptionally good.

Did you get a carfax or one of those type things done? My hunch is that there is some real work that has been done and not done correctly. One of my GX has 160k on it and paint is still shiny and just about flawless save a coupe of stone chips. I’d take it by either a Lexus dealer or by a top rate body shop and have them look at it for evidence of repairs. That peeling should not happen.

Hello,
Lexus did have a problem with this paint in different years see this quote from lexus :
"Lexus has received reports of paint peeling on certain vehicles with the original factory-applied Blizzard Pearl paint color. These reports indicate that vehicles with this specific paint color, applied during the vehicle manufacturing process, may experience paint peeling on exterior metal body panels."
Covered Vehicles There are approximately 5,770 vehicles covered by this Customer Support Program. There are approximately 10 vehicles covered by this Customer Support Program that were distributed to Puerto Rico. Program Phase Schedule In early August 2019, Lexus announced the “Customer Notification Phase” of this program. Lexus is now launching the repair portion of this program. Phase 1 – Customer Notification In the interest of customer satisfaction, Lexus first notified owners via first class mail between late August 2019 and mid-September 2019 about this program, provided a process for reimbursing out of pocket expenses associated with this condition incurred prior to September 26, 2019, and informed owners that Lexus is working on the repair for their vehicle. Phase 2 – Repair Available and Customer Re-notification In early August 2019, Lexus announced the “Customer Notification Phase” of this program. Lexus is now launching the repair portion of this program.
I did search the CarFax on this vehicle before I bought it from a private seller, there was no notice of repair to the vehicle or paint damage. I have taken it to my local dealer and have spoken with Lexus corporate, spent weeks going round and round, in the end, they declined to help, saying the vehicle was out of warranty, it had 65,000 miles and only has 77,000 miles now. The former owner says they didn't have paint work done, I guess they could have lied. My GX had been solid, other than the paint, averaging 18-19 MPG. It appears Lexus / the GX will drop to a V6. I am happy to have the 8 and will keep this one in my stable for a long time. Does it seem like Lexus is getting rid of 8's?

12K off?! You must be a heck of a negotiator! Well done! Quick question, I see you have your iPhone charge cord plugged into the USB port. Can you confirm if you can access Apple carplay in either port? And/or are you experiencing intermittent charging notifications on your phone by using the top port? Seems several of us with late model 23's are experiencing a weird issue with the USB ports & charging. Thanks!
Carnevino! My top USB port does not work either. It constantly disconnects immediately after plugging in. Of course Carplay doesn't work either. Everything works when I use the bottom USB port. I plan to eventually have it looked at by the dealer.

TLDR: Long time Bimmer head is proud owner of 2022 GX460 Premium (Starfire Pearl on Roja Red). Past cars include 328xi, 135is, Z4 M, X3 and 550i.
Full Version: I’ve only owned BMWs in the last 15+ years, all of which have been reliable largely attributable to regular and preventive maintenance. With my wife’s X3 turning 9 years old, I thought it was maybe time for an upgrade. However, the thought of owning any modern BMW post-warranty is no longer appealing.
After consulting some knowledgeable, trustworthy friends, they pointed me to the Lexus GX. TBH it was never on my radar because I recall reading some rather underwhelming reviews. But after doing research, I realized these “professional” journalists missed the essence of this car. I don’t need Trackhawk speed or X5 M handling. But an old school rugged SUV, 6500# towing capacity, beautiful interior with real buttons, and the most reliable naturally aspirated v8 to boot…? Yes please!
Sure the mpg sucks but I’ll gladly pay up at the pump versus $60,000 in lithium ion batteries in 10 years!
PS - Thank you Lexus/Toyota for not taking away the oil dipstick

Fantastic SUV
Bought this '23 Prem Plus (new) two weeks ago. (My original post disappeared) Love it. So smooth and great ride over the horrible roads in CT/NY. Didn't have Lexus on my mind, but was looking for a great SUV and the 4Runner was my top choice until I drove it....noisy and really no power. After 6 months of shopping Jeeps, Pilots, Passports, 4Runners, CX-50, I test drove and bought this in a day. Got 10% off MSRP. I am a current Porsche owner and can tell you the Lexus dealer impresses. Great long term choice and that V8, hence my user name DrillBBDrill. Blask onyx with Ecru.
