I have been looking for about 6 months and am very happy to have found this GX. The paint is in very good condition (for the age) and the frame rust is cosmetic. Will shortly be adding a hitch and working on cleaning up the frame with POR15. Looking forward to some light off-roading in addition to DD
Hi Guys ... Mike here ... retired USAF. Have been reading this forum a lot over the last few months. We’ve been looking for a solid vehicle to replace our Audi Allroad ... and to serve as our “dog-mobile” ... for two German Shepards. And of course having been a long-time Toyota/Lexus fan we narrowed the choice down to the 4Runner and GX. After owning a 4Runner I thought that it would be the way to go. But after reading about, seeing, and drivng the GX, and considering the $4000 Lexus Cash offer, the choice was obvious. Picked up our “tank” on Saturday. Looking forward to many years of fun and reliability.

Hello new here just picked up a 2017 Starfire Pearl Luxury. It replaced my Tesla Model Y that I had for all of 4 months. This is my 3rd Lexus and I lost count of all the Toyotas.
2020 Premium with sports package, picked it up about a month ago...coming from 2017 RX, it’s definitely a truck as compared to the RX. I am glad I went with the GX.
Nice to be a part of the Lexus community, I've owned 5 4runners, most previously a 2004 V8 limited (j120 and the best vehicle I've ever owned).
recent purchase:
2011 GX 460 Premium 95000 mi

Non HID
Starfire Pearl/Sepia Int

Welcome to the board! I am a bit curious what made you to switch from Tesla Model Y to GX after 4 months?
It was a nice car tech was awesome it had full self driving which can really spoil you. I didn't have a supercharger in my city and the way my work is I may drive all day and something my come up and I have to drive some more. In the 4 months I put over 10k on the Tesla it was in the shop 4 times for miscellaneous stuff mostly cosmetic fit and finish issues. In the end I found some who wanted it more and paid what I paid for it. The GX had been on my shopping list previously with this one being CPO and the unlimited mileage warranty just made more sense. I am covered till 2028 just as reference I have a 2012 Nissan Pathfinder that has 290k and I still have it.
Hey Guys! Here is my new-to-me 2017 GX460 Premium Nebula Gray Pearl. It was a lease return with 33K miles and I think I got a good deal on it. I'm going from a '08 4Runner and fell in love with this rig after test driving it. This thing has obviously never been off road. It's been a California car all it's life so no signs of rust or anything like that. I plan on daily driving around town as well as road trips to camp sites / fishing holes and mild overlanding / off roading.
Here's what I have on order:
Dobinson's 2" Twin Tube Nitro Gas lift kit with Upper Control Arms
17x9 VTX Wheels Stinger 17x9 +0 offset in Satin Black
285/70/17 Toyo AT3 Tires
Obviously will need a good alignment after all that. As long as I keep up with regular maintenance, it should serve me well for a long time. I just greased my driveshaft zerks. Guys, this is a commonly overlooked maintenance item that the dealers often forget. Check underneath, and if the zerks are clean as a whistle like on mine, you know they were probably never greased.
Future plans - sliders, full length low profile roof rack, co2 tank, and spare tire relocate
Glad to be part of this community and excited to share my progress with you guys!
Picked up a 2015 Premium with only 9800 miles. I replaced a 2003 4runner and wanted another 4runner, until I started looking at these realizing how much more you get for the money. I immediately swapped the wheels with the fsport wheel and tinted the front windows. It has the sepia interior color and pretty loaded with options, Blind Spot Monitoring, Park Assist, navigation, rear camera, etc. At purchase time After FSport wheels and front window tint.
