Reported highway seems pretty consistent ... it's mixed and city that's appears to be radically different in some cases.

I'm typically always 18-20.5 MPG.... 90% highway/freeway these days. I can't say I have ever done 21 MPG but I am sure a long flat run would easily net that.

Default AVG MPG and MPH Readout on your GX

I reset these readout every service at Lexus. So it is reset every 5K or 10K, or somewhere in between.

On my 2015 GX premium, 60K miles, I consistently see below:

AVG MPH = 30 (no typo, this number barely changes, I have 70% hwy at 65mph flat road)
AVG MPG = 19 (this number changes within range of 18.7 and 19.1)

Overall, these 2 AVG readout are seldom changing, I am wondering what numbers my fellow GX drivers have?

Happy new year to all and have safe trips in your GX.

I got 23MPH on mine. I reset it once or twice before and eventually it settled on 23MPH.

The mpg readout after fuel up is around 15mpg.

Thanks. I think you are referring to mpg post fill-up at 15. If you toggle it through the display, you will see avg or lifetime mpg, which is a number that seldom moves in my GX.

I find this interesting, as if you are looking for a pre-owned GX, knowing its lifetime avg speed is a good indicator of how its engine idled/ran over prior ownership (provided the owner never reset its avg speed).

I guess most of us never realized that our avg lifetime speed is below 30mph, as I don't ever recall I drive at 30mph for more than 30 min.

So I suppose you realize you are looking at AVERAGES. At 60K miles, those averages are not going to change much. (law of large numbers). Of course averages don't tell the whole story and are not very useful unless you understand the variation related to those averages, but that discussion is for another time.

Our overall average for many thousand miles is 16.2. My wife commutes to work on surface streets, but not a horrible amount of stop and go. Very seldom a freeway vehicle. But in late 2016 we did a 2200 mile trip that was almost all freeway running 75mpg or so for the most part. We averaged right about 20 on that trip.

Default After Fuel Mileage reset issue

For the last few days I've been having this issue with the After Fuel Mileage display and wonder if anyone ran into the same issue.
It was working fine when the car was moving the display seemed to show the estimate mpg accurately. However, after turned it off and parked for a while (maybe a couple hours), upon starting the car again, it still showed the mpg, but as soon as I put in Reverse, it reset to 0. It didn't do it when I only parked for a few minutes, like ran into a store or the bank etc...

It happened 3-4 times during the weekend. There are no other lights on and there's no code stored either.

Looks like a loosing memory issue. How about other settings, such as brightness of the center cluster, average speed, etc. if all loose the previous value without manually reset, it could be the onboard flash memory issue.

None of the other got reset, just the after fuel display.
I parked it for 4 hrs today and it didn’t reset this time. It reset this morning when I backed out from the driveway. Will continue to keep an eye out.

when it reset, were you parked on a slope backwards and gas tank full? might be resetting itself thinking you just filled up a new tank of gas? might be far fetched but can't think of anything.

curious to see what @Acrad thinks it is
