Anyone used a roof or hitch mounted luggage box for their GX?
I wanted to get a tow hitch mounted one but I was wondering if anyone had experience with them on the GX?

I would think it's more aerodynamic in the rear, but what are the disadvantages versus the roof mounted?

Just a thought, but wouldn't one of those tow-hitch-mounted boxes block the rear view? Although I've never used one, the box looks rather bulky. Because I have problems seeing through the rear window, especially at night, I rely (to a certain extent) on the rearview camera when backing up, and that box makes the camera completely useless. If head clearance isn't a problem, then I think a roof-mounted option would be better.

LOL those box are not cheap tho,
I agree with akfd, roof one will be better, although will affect ur MPG, but I'm afraid the rear one will block the rear view camera and activate the parking senors all the time...

I use a hitch basket
I bought one for my 05 GX 470 and am using it for my GX 460 as well. A few things, it does block the backup camera, but I need the storage until I figure out the roof thing. Also, it does block the back door as well, which can be a pain, especially since I have dogs who are riding back there and eager to get out whenever we get where we are going. We take my daughter's booster out and let them out the rear doors. If you will have cargo back there, you can unload the hitch basket/box first and then unload the back. I am a woman and can do it (the basket is about 50 lbs), so it is not that tough...inconvenient, yes, but it works if you need the space. There are some places that sell boxes that swing out, but I do not have any experience with those.
Northern Tools had a really great price on a simple hitch basket if that is what you are looking for. It has sides, which I highly recommend instead of the "flat" type. It can also accommodate a hitch basket cargo bag.
