Default Breakin' in and moddin' the new GX!

So where the heck is all the mods!

Love the LED changes for puddle lamps, boards, and map lights. I'll definitely be looking into those.

Going to tint the front 2 windows to 35%.

The GX came with remote start, convenience stuff (cargo mat, net, etc), glass sensor...

What's the story with all weather mats? Are they 'on the way' ? From reading threads, it doesn't seem folks have been happy with weathertech's or others. I really want a flat, rubber cargo mat as well. Cheesy eBay one's need not apply.

I have some Xentec H11 HIDs with slim ballasts - and it looks like they'll fit the fogs -- which is a nice addition.

Anybody know if LX wheels will fit the GX?

There is not allot of aftermarket for the 460 (hopefully yet). I would love to get an exhaust. The only stuff available, that I can find is two bull bars, bulbs of course, mats and filters. As far as mats, I have not heard any negative comments about the WeatherTech or the Husky mats. I have the WeatherTechs in my IS and they are WAY better then OEM. For the fogs I ordered these;

Different wheels would be nice. Not a big fan of the newpainted "recyclable" wheels. Don't think LX wheels will work as those are 20" so you would have to go with low profile tires.

I have looked at tiretack and discounttire and don't see any nice and simple wheels I would like. All of them are overdone.

The LX wheels also have a different bolt pattern, so they definitely will not work.

The v-led fogs are great. Luke posted some pics in the DIY thread.

The GX 470 all-weather mats fit, but the cargo liner does not work for the GX 460.

I just installed them in my IS and they are GREAT! Perfect match with OEM HIDs. Also they should last the life of the vehicle. I've had to replace these fogs twice in 4 years (LEDs are 3rd set) and the inner fender well needs to be taken apart to change the bulbs.

i suggest if you wanted to do some modding, you should of bot a 4runner. NOt much needed on this gx other than maybe larger wheels, which itself would be a headache. The spare wheel well is very tight as it is. What did you want to do?

the husky weather liners work great, same as the 4runner

I just noticed your signature. I've been trying to see a red 460 in person. They are hard to come by!

My favorite Mods that I have done on my GX are,

The module to enable me to use the telephone while driving and also allows my passenger to watch movies on the Nav screen.

Also, the module to make the Fog Lights the DRLs.

He's talking about dialing on the Nav screen while moving. Lexus locks you out from dialing on the screen while the vehicle is moving...

Dial by voice or dial on the phone. Never even throught to use nav screen to dial. Too many screens to go through
Watching movies that is worth it, but since I have Base GX I cannot watch movies on mine.

Luke.....

When I press the answer phone icon on the steering wheel, the first screen that pops up is the Dialing Pad.

When the car is moving, the pad grays out. But with a push of of the module's button, it all comes to life again.

On my IS, when you push the phone button on the steering wheel the phone menu comes up and and you can still use the "Speed Dial" option while moving.
