From what Marcus said, I don't think they've sold any of the black chrome wheels for the GX 460. That was when I ordered mine a while back...

Here is a photo that NoNameDFW posted on the roll call of Knights Armor Pearl and chrome wheels.

I don't think any member has posted a photo of the black chrome on the GX 460.
Too flashy for me, especially on the Armor Pearl which I have as well. The contrast is too big. Trying to play with photo editing software to put the black wheels on, but not having too much luck.

FYI... I had a good conversation with marcus. He presented me with a very interesting opportunity that I wanted to pass on.

Sounds like they have lots of new 4runner wheels - not so much for the GX.

If you guys call USWheel Exchange, and talk to Marcus -- he said they would sell (on exchange) - the chromed version of the 4Runner wheels that fit our GX with Lexus logos on the cap for 395 plus the 180 round trip shipping. Might be something to consider.

I opted to stick with GX wheels - but someone here might really be interested in this. PVD chrome guaranteed for less than 600 bucks shipped... pretty good deal if you like the 4 runner wheel. Of course the trade is for your GX wheels.

It is a nice deal, but remember that those wheels require outside bolt on wheel weights. After few wheel balances the edge will look like crap.

You can use stick on weights, I always use them.

Default Experience with wheels so far

I am almost ready to get my wheels chrommed at the US Wheel Exchange.

From anyone who already got wheels from them, what is your experience with wheels so far? Any problems/issues/ regrets?

I have the PVD chrome exchange...

So far - I am super happy and they are holding up well.

Don't spect 'show chrome' mirror finish. It's good, and plenty shiny, but it's not mirror finish like chrome or polished stainless.

They clean up VERY well. Super easy. Using normal soap.

Don't buy straight off eBay - get ahold of the sales guy, Marcus, and see if he'll make you a deal.

wheels come in boxes... well packaged and wrapped. Have them swapped out, but the originals in the box - and drop off at the fed ex station. done. Refund of the core charge was pretty quick and definitely painless.

You going to try the black chrome????

I've had zero issues with mine. I agree, deal with Marcus the general manager. I also purchased direct. Have your wheels shipped to where they're going to be installed. The boxes are large. Also have them picked up by Fed-Ex where you have them installed. Pay for shipping both ways, they give you their discounted shipping...

I got the shipping both ways too. Shipping home as I need to find a good installer. I am afraid place like Discount Tire which I normally use may scratch the new rims or do some damage while mounting.

Will do. It may take couple weeks since Marcus doesn't have any in stock.

For sure I will stay away from the dealer. When I had the 2010 GX, they completely trashed the previous wheels when troubleshooting vibrations. Then they poorly painted them. Took an escalation to have them replaced from with a set from a demo.

no deal
the Lexus wheels cost about 480 each wholesale brand new

the 4runner wheels cost about 180 wholesale each brand new.

so the chroming process costs $1200 bucks? and how much more are they charging for the exchange? they are making the $ on this exchange
