Replacing the high beam bulbs!
#16
I just purchased these http://www.buyheadlightbulbs.com/Lum.../lkt-9005f.htm for the DRL/highbeams.
When I get them installed I will update and post some pics of the color.

These are the ones I'm using and they are about twice the power/light of OEM and are whiter. The high beams are awesome (same temp as OEM HID).

You have to remember that when using them as DRL the voltage is reduced to well below normal and they come with free high wattage adapters. The only time they are getting full voltage is when you use your high beams. Again with the adapters there is no problem. I've been using them in my IS for over two years with no problem at all. The only way to determine the difference is if you take pic with one OEM bulb. It is about twice the temp of the OEM but it is not white. The high beam is awesome and looks exactly like HID (brightness and temp). I refuse to lose my high beams. I need them for popping slow pokes and driving on non-lit back roads. I pull a travel trailer.

The lights should be here Tuesday so there should be pics up by Wednesday. They are a little expensive so I hope to get what I pay for. I too need my high beams to be good and bright for the back country roads and slow pokes on the phone in the fast lane.
Koz, can you tell any difference in the DLR from stock bulb?

Well guys I put the new lights in tonight. I am very satisfied with the high beam very clear color, but as everyone thought the drl color is still slight yellow. It did improve over the silver star ultra lights it replaced which were slightly better than stock. At some point tomorrow if it stops raining I will take some day time pics of the drls. here are some pics
the passenger lamp contains the new Luminics the driver contains the silverstar ultra. the parking lights are led so they look kinda blue but are clear. The pictures are really not a good reflection of the actual color but it gives you an idea. The last picture shows the size difference. It really is 30% larger.

Koz,
How is heat from bulbs you have selected? I am using also 5k from vleds but not as bright (still very bright, but no heat).
I have just ordered new Amber 7443 for turn signals to replace the previous generation. LEDs are closer to the base so they should reflect even better even with the same power. Will post some pics when those arive.
