I know this is an old thread, but I'm curious about this feature. RIght now, when I approach the vehicle and get near the door handle, it unlocks the driver door. Can this be set up to unlock all the doors?
I had a 2008 GS350 which had door handle sensors on all 4 doors. It was great when opening the doors for passengers sitting in the rear. The two rear doors operated like the front passenger door where all doors where unlocked.
Anyone heard (tried searching) of someone installing the front passenger door handle/lock sensor on the two rear passenger doors? I'm assuming there's some wiring that would need to be present and hoping someone might have an idea if it's there but the door handles just don't have the sensor hardware.
This has happened to me three times in the past 3 weeks, its typically been on a wet/cold day.
The driver side door would not lock when touching the door handle or hitting the key fob. All the other doors would lock properly, except the drivers side door.
No other doors were open, and I'm positive they were all shut properly.
We took it to the dealer, and they of course could not replicate the problem, just stated that "we must have had a door open etc.....
No codes and they couldn't find an issue of course. had a loaner for 2 days etc.
I videod the problem to show the door not locking. Anyone with similar experience.
Had a similar problem with 2 vehicles in the past.
I'm sure there are other potential causes, but it sounds like the lock actuator in that door if all the other doors are locking.
You have the fob in your hand in the Lexus proximity. It locked the door and you put your hand on the door so yes it unlocked. Take the fob 10 to 20 feet away and try again.
Lock the doors, take your key/remote FAR awaway from the GX and try again to open the drivers side door. Appease me please LOL , just want to make sure I am correct on this.
I had a similar problem when I had my 4runner. My issue was not the lock actuator, but the black rubber piece going bad, which was very easy to replace. Have you tried locking the vehicle while you are inside? And are you able to open the driver side door without the alarm going off? If it doesn't, it's probably that black rubber piece.
I noticed that when I locked my doors, the car wasn’t beeping. I then noticed that the passenger side front not wasn’t locking, not even with the lock button on the door. Now the problem is on drivers side front door. Is this an actuator failing on the Doors? Something with the computer? Any assistance would be appreciated.
