#Highest #mileage gx 460

If someone reaches 1,000,000 regardless of its condition, Lexus/Toyota should give you a new GX if it still being made. LOL.
>>> Well, I guess they do. See the story below:

"f 2007 seems like a recent model year to hit 1 million miles, we agree. A Louisiana man named Vic Sheppard racked up that impossible mileage count in about nine years of driving between his home state and North Dakota. He mixed in plenty of trips to Virginia as well, averaging about 125,000 miles a year. When Toyota learned about Sheppard’s milestone, the automaker traded him a brand-new model in exchange for his Tundra, which looked great considering the distance it had traveled."

i just sold a 1999 4Runner with 401k and still going strong. Different drivetrain of course, but it was always well serviced

I plan to make this my 'forever car' as well. I have close to 1500 miles on mine so far. My wife already knows that if I "get bored with it", as she puts it, I'll just get bigger tires and a suspension lift. I honestly believe, especially if this is the last of the GX 460, that this will be very desirable one day and I want to be one that owns one.

100% agree. Bought my 470 with 169k on the clock because it had an impeccable service history and was in phenomenal mechanical condition. It’s at 183k last time I checked. It’s my wife’s truck. My 460 is about to reach 153k and going strong. I would not hesitate to buy certain vehicles with high mileage if they pass those two criteria. Plus it’s nice that I can work on the 470 pretty easy myself.

I just changed / serviced my trans in the 2010 GX460 at ~153k and it was dark. Not burnt, just dark. My trusted Toyota mechanic I use absolutely recommends a trans service at 80-100k. While there we’re zero issues with my trans and no detectable metal shavings in the original fluid I still feel better replacing it. I don’t believe in never fill / sealed transmissions. I’m going to make it a regular 60-80k service item to service the trans. I wanna keep this 460 forever.

Good to hear on your AT service.
It is troubling to hear Toyota/Lexus service departments report lifetime but the official warranty/services guide suggest 60K mile intervals.... this doesn't even have to be towing...but heavy loads, a roof cargo topper and to this year extended idling
I'm going to do simple 30k mile drain and fills from this time out.... next one will probably be 1-2 years out as last one was at 57K miles...currently at 73K... and next would be at 87k
EDIT: Side note for new members.. I did multiple drain and fills at previous mileage listed.
