Nitrogen is much drier and more stable than compressed ambient air. If you have a compressor in your garage, take a look at your moisture trap and see how much water it separates out.) While the air we breathe is somewhere in the high 70% N range, 98% N can make a meaningful difference in the performance of your tires, depending on how your vehicle is used. I used nitrogen in my R compound track tires. Reason being, if you didn't, after a couple of laps on a road course, you would pick up 2-3 PSI, and 8 or more PSI as you continued on. It makes a huge difference in the handling and balance of the car. At speed, understeer and oversteer are severely exaggerated, and therefore impacts not only lap times, but your safety. Admittedly, that's not a major concern for a short hop grocery getter, but your GX WILL pick up a good 5 PSI on a road trip. Not only that, if you live in a state that gets wild seasonal temperature swings, in wintertime you probably have noticed that you have gotten a low pressure warning light on your DIC.

Air (78% N2) and N2 both follow the ideal gas law.

This will probably devolve into a debate like which oil or air filter to use, but here is some reading material.

Most of the websites that are promoting N2 fill have a monetary incentive to do so. Paying for N2 is one of the many scams out there, if it makes you fell better, go for it.

I agree that there are MANY nitrogen fill scams out there. I think I saw one for $99 to purge and refill four tires. Ripoff for sure. However, it adds no cost when I purchase, or have my tires rotated at Costco. (No, I'm not a nitrogen salesman.) As I noted above, most will not notice a performance benefit in their street vehicles, but will probably avoid some low pressure indications. I personally would not pay extra for a nitrogen fill. It's very easy to keep an eye on individual tire pressures in 2020 and newer GX's and adjust accordingly.

... unless driving a race car where maintaining tire pressure over a range of operating temperatures is critical ... the nitrogen fill thing is total marketing speak ...

Nitrogen has its place in Guinness Beer That is how the foam stays and is so smooth, pressure difference in the bubbles make them stay longer...

Factually speaking, nitrogen is better than air (que draconian counter attack lol). Whether it is worth it is one's choice. Free works for me (Costco). I won't pay a lot for it however. In the end it's about execution. But all things being well applied, nitrogen is superior. And rubber permeability is a thing. So is oxidation. Inert isn't combustible either.
