I checked inventory in edmunds iPhone app. It showed a Midwest dealer has EXACT premium 2011 that I am looking for. I emailed dealer that I am ready to buy this vehicle and will negotiate from invoice. He replied that all 2011 are sold out! Edmunds app still shows their dealership has 2 base and 2 premium on the lot. What's going on ?!

Good Deal on Base 2011 GX460 with Entertainment system is 56500.00

Make sure to check the vibration at the speed of 60-70 mph.

Was offered $55900 on a base 2011 GX460 with options that stickers at $60,089. Is this a good deal given that the 2012s are here?

Actually, that's why I'm looking at a Lexus instead of a Cayenne or a GL.

Would appreciate genuine helpful comments instead of a snide, snobby statement putting down other car brands.

Aren't you the guy who walked from an MDX over $600? That's perfectly respectable, and you shouldn't be lecturing others who - like you - are trying to get a fair deal.

To the OP, I don't have any official numbers in front of me but would expect you to be able to get 1 or 2k below invoice on a 2011 depending on the specific supply situation in your area.

I would say the best deals I have seen/read have been based on the invoice price. A good price for a leftover would be 1 or 2K below invoice. A good price for a new Lexus would be $1500 over invoice or less (including special orders). I got lucky and found a Stealer that would special order for invoice on the GX and $250 over on the IS. You just have to wait for approx 3 1/2 months.

I appreciate the input, and I think that sounds about right. I got another dealer offering $53,900 for essentially the same car (which I think is right at invoice), and it seems possible to get another 1 or 2k off.

I'd say that inventory on the 11's must be slim by now. Last year at this time there was a 2k rebate and the remaining 2010's were flying out of inventory (most were gone here in NJ by the end of Oct.) No such incentive that I see this year. Without any factory support I think it will be hard to negotiate below invoice. The holdback is not that much and the TDA eats up much of that. Good luck.

Maybe, but I don't see that being offered here in NJ. Edmunds indicates "up to $750." but no other info site that I have searched has that same information.
