Default Wheel locks

Can someone tell me what I need to know about my wheel locks? This is my first vehicle with those so was wondering what things would be good to know.

THanks!

Wheel locks are used to prevent someone from stealing your rims and wheels. You need the wheel lock key to remove the nuts. The number 1 thing you should know is don't lose the key! Whenever you take your car for tire/brake services, make sure they give you back the key.

On my previous Lexus the key was lost twice. The first time I found it out a few weeks after the service, and of course they denied they lost it. The second time I found it out one day after, and had Pep Boys reimburse me for the key placement. The service manage was little shocked when he saw the invoice from the dealer, which probably wiped out half the profit of the brake job.

I am not sure how useful the wheel locks are. If you have expensive custom wheels, they may provide you some peace of mind. However, if people really want to steal your wheels, they can still do that. On YouTube someone even posted an instructional video.

I have wheel locks too but I'd rather have some other accessory.
