How easy it this one to put on and off the factory bars? Too high to go into my garage.

Thanks!

I haven’t loaded it yet but I can hear very little wind noise on the way back on highway speeds.

I got the Thule over Yakima because of ease of putting this on, align the ***** over the bars and sort of slide of from side. One more person to hold it makes it very easy. My helper was my 9 year old boy
It won’t go in my garage to but for long trips and 3 kids the extra space comes in handy.

This should also fit my lx570 easy.

Wanted to update;
i took the car to Florida with the box / factory rack and it was a mistake.

I kept thing light about 50lbs of bags on top but in the middle our way the box feet were hitting the front roof during uneven roads. I went up don’t see any scratches but still I won’t recommend using the cargo box with factory bars.

After reading anither thread here here I ordered the inno system and will take out the factory bars.

I know it has been awhile, but just checking to see where you got your Prado rails? Thanks!

As noted in the other thread, mine were from eBay and ended up being a bit of a problem b/c the vendor never sent the correct center mounts even after multiple attempts. I would assume you'd be ok from Amazon.

Does your Rocketbox attachment points hit the top of the roof and scratch the paint? Nice rig.

If anyone is local in San Jose, this guy is selling a set of OEM bars for $50. I'm debating just to pick them up just in case someone needs it in the future haha.

How do you identify OEM cross bars? Do they have Lexus logos on them?

Default GX460 Cross bars 101...

Please school me on cross bars for my 2014 GX...Wife wants to travel for New Year away from Boise, ID...so we're either going west to Portland, or east to Salt Lake City....I'm from Texas, and I'm used to getting anything and everything whenever I wanted. But now I'm in Boise, and I can't seem to get anything without ORDERING. Both Lexus dealer both ways got the crossbars in stock (one wants $360, the other $263, vs NOT IN STOCK in Boise for $225)...regardless, I'm trying to find options before I go. Ideally, I'd like to have them mounted BEFORE we take off tomorrow (worst case, I'll buy them when I get there tomorrow). But, can someone please SCHOOL me on how to pick the cross bars? Is there a certain size/length I'm looking for? I've read through the search options, and I've read Yakima and Thule do not have solutions for the current GX model. However, most of those threads were from ~4-5 years ago (on average), so maybe they do have them now(?)...I've read Inno has a set for the vehicle. There's an REI nearby, and I have used Yakima parts with my BMW in the past and I do like their products. But, right now, I'm just trying to find something, IF possible. So if anyone could please let me know what will work, and what to select. Thank you.

I've tried reading through the old threads all day, hesitated to start a new one. But I couldn't find any solid answer.

There’s no current Yakima models that fit the GX. The discontinued one, like EZ Rider, fit well and a few folks use them on here, including me.

Inno bars/rack also work too.

For stock bars, check ebay for used ones, cheaper than from dealers.
I have both stock and EZ Rider towers and swap them depends on what I need to
carry.

Keep in mind the aftermarket bars usually make a bit more wind noise than factory units do.

If I want to add a storage box, or them torpedo looking things, is it better to go non-OEM? Any recommended brand that's better than others?

Inno bars seem solid...any input?
