Default "Wood" Trim

I just purchases certified pre-owned 2010 GX 460 Base model that is silver in color with black leather interior. What seems off to me is that the "wood" trim on the air bag dash, upper door panel, steering weal and shift **** are auburn bubinga, but the trim on the sliding door to the USB/AUX, drink holder and at the window buttons on the door are charcoal. Is that a common thing? Never seen trim colors mixed in a car before.

Thanks.

No, that's strange. I have the same color interior on my premium and the wood trim is all the same color...

What's strange is that I don't even think they offered any other color wood besides auburn bubinga. Maybe it was different in 2010 but in 2011 and 2012 there was only one wood color regardless of the color of the interior.

That's what I thought, really strange. It being certified, I am not sure if I should make a big stink about it to the dealer.

Is the color that much different? It could be different shades of the same wood or the light is just shining on the wood differently which may make it look different. I noticed sometimes the wood color varies within the same vehicle. Can you take a pic and post it?

I'll bet that trim came from the Prada (European version of the GX). If I'm not mistaken the base model (2010) did not have as much wood trim.

Yes, the color is much different. It is charcoal/dark grey which matches the black interior and why although it looked a bit off to me that there would be two different trim colors in the car it still looked like it made sense with black interior and why I did not make an issue of it initially. It blends in very well. But it is still in the back of my mind and I decided to check if that was a common thing.

I will take a picture and post it here.

Thinking it is perhaps aftermarket product i did a Google search but did not find anything, which prompted me to ask the owners here.

Ok, I just happened to have a 2010 and 2011 GX460 dealer brochure and they had a picture of the interior of the base model in there. The wood trim is the same for both years and in both years only auburn bubinga is offered regardless of interior. The base has wood on the door covering the aux port and on the window button area. Just curious, are all four window button areas charcoal wood? Is the horizontal strip that goes across the top of the doors also charcoal wood? As Koz mentioned, maybe the previous owner put on Prada or aftermarket wood trim.

All four doors have charcoal wood around the buttons, the AUX sliding cover and the drink holder sliding cover are all charcoal wood.

The horizontal panel on the upper part of the door, horizontal panel on the passenger airbag area, the steering weal and the shift *** are all auburn.

That is strange. If it is from the Prado or aftermarket, it doesn't seem like it would be worth the hassle and money to do that. It looks pretty cool though and is definitely OEM style/quality from the looks of it. It would be pretty cool and sporty if all the trim was that color.

You should just say you have a GX460 "special edition" 1 of 1 built in the U.S.

LOL

It would be great if it was all in that color, with a silver car and black interior it would totally match.

Thing is, not knowing what it is and where it came from (does look OEM quality and I am picky) can't switch the rest even if I wanted to.
