Floor Mat Clip Removal
I got those custom fit liners to replace the floot mats for the winter but they don't have holes in them. How do take the floor mat clips out without breaking them?

Dawg, you will tear up the carpeting before breaking those clips! This is one of the (few?) times that brute force doesn't work. You need to compress the two halves of the clip that are trapped by the grommet in the carpeting. Needle-nose pliers work quite well ... fingers do not.
If you are careful, patient ... and strong, you may be able to hold the carpeting tight with one hand while levering the clip with the other, but watch that carpet grommet ... if it fails before you remove the clip ... well, stop before it reaches that point. A carwash attendant ripped a hole in our carpeting trying to strong-arm the clip. For all intents and purposes, those clips are indestructible, but carpeting is not.

I removed mine for the Husky liners and they just poped out by pulling up and back on the long end (by the hook). You may want to use a hair dryer if it is cold, to avoid breaking.

Just removed mine on a 2012....use a small flathead screw driver to get under and pop out the pin in the center. Get under the head and it will come out, then the rest is easy. Don't just manhandle the entire clip or you'll rip you carpet.

I had one where the hook-end had broken off. I went to the dealer to buy one. They gave it to me for free.
I then used a pry-bar and it popped right out. Interestingly, the clip came out intact.
