You need to fix it properly regardless of if you keep it or sell it. You clearly have a parasitic drain somewhere and could well be in one of the connectors. You can have someone clean the connections and see if that resolves the problem.

The dealership will only replace parts, they won't scrub them clean or use used parts.

Are the drains clogged? You can use thick weedeater line to clear the drains out, which is what I did when I serviced my sunroof. If you feed it down from the top you'll see it pop out behind the front tires if there are no obstructions.

Here is the write-up I did when I cleaned mine out; https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gx-...intenance.html

Old thread resurrection but saw someone on GXOR with same issue. In that case it was caused by a damaged shark fin antenna on the rear roof. Damage occurred from a car wash.

I'm trying my best to avoid car washes now and just hand wash. Or at least only go for the touchless car wash. I have a knee injury right now but once I'm better the GX is getting clay bar'd and ceramic coating.

Angry ECU Replacement

Hello,
Need help/advice badly. I have a 2015 Gx 460 still under warranty, Stopped after a car wash, dealer says I had hail repair done to the roof few months back and they forgot to connect a water drain or something around the moon roof and that led to water damage to electronics! 9000$. Here is what they said --> "recommend to start with replacing harnesses and maybe ecus due to water intrusion may need more parts as disassemble of vehicle." can this really happen?? I am at a loss now. Any help / advice really appreciated.

Thank for your time in advance.

What is actually wrong with your car? What doesn't work exactly?

Oil pressure light is always on when car is on, engine not running. Need to hook up a code reader to see what's going on.

Disconnected moonroof drains will funnel water directly down the A-Pillars onto the ECUs on affected sides.

Did you see any water on the front floor mats or wet carpets underneath?

You may want to get a second opinion from an independent shop and explore legal actions against repair shop if confirmed and/or talk with your insurance company about botched repair (if confirmed).

Those are dealer costs for ECUs and no telling how many they planned to replace.

Example: Engine ECU is $1500-$2K by itself... there are too many to quickly list. If they are talking about running new wiring harnesses... the labor charges alone could exceed the hardware costs.

Again just speculation if the problem is as bad as they say it is.
