Since the roof rack was replaced and that is all siliconed and water tight i cant figure any other path beyond sunroof seal/sunroof drain(s) being blocked.

Please keep everyone posted if this works or not. I just dealt with a faulty sunroof drain issue in a V36 Infiniti. It wasn't the upper drain that was the problem...but the lower drain that plugged at firewall and backed up into the sunroof area...then to A-pillar. Fortunately didn't take out the BCM but time will tell. I've been drying things out the last few days.

[14-19] - I would say mostly accurate as this is technically for Eurasian models.

Wow that is an incredible amount of work. Didn't realize how many vehicles this potentially affects.

While vehicle is level are you able to see the water drain down the tubes as you slowly pour from a cup into that front tray area of the sunroof? The drains are in the far corner of each side
This is area directly below the pop up wind deflector.
Or does it immediately backup? Not so say rears aren't plugged up but if level and fronts are open this shouldn't cause an overflow.

Recently got a leak from the sunroof area. At first, I thought it was the seal, but thanks for this forum, I was able to clear out the drain holes -there was a puddle up there. I hope that fixed the issue.
Tools needed for the job.
Both drain holes were soo clogged and covered, I didn't know it was there.
Clearing the inside with the wire.
Successful drain test.

Water leak
Hello all,
New member here!
I am wondering if anyone had the issue of having water leaking to their ECU and their electrical components after driving through car wash (high pressure). Had my GX460 malfunctioning and lost power after going through car wash! And feedback will be appreciate it!

Car Wash Made my 2010 Go Crazy
I went through a car wash a couple of days ago and everything went crazy afterwards. Horn was blaring on and off, but not like the alarm, dash flashed a couple times, I think. I shut it off and jumped out to disconnect the battery, but by the time I popped the hood it had stopped. When I opened the door to get back in, everything started going crazy again. This time I barely got the hood popped before it stopped.
I figured I just had water in something, pulled up the vacuum, popped the hood, and let it sit for a few minutes while I finish vacuuming and wiping things down. I drove it home, opened the hood up, and let it sit for a couple days to dry before I touched it again.
It now runs and drives fine, except certain things don't work. What's not working is the power windows, power door locks, high and low beams, (except when I pull the high beams back manually), key fob, interior lights, and the sensors that tell the dash which doors are open.
I pulled almost every fuse related to anything not working, but they all look good. Hooked up the ODB2 sensor and got a P1603 - TCU Communications Error, which doesn't make any sense to me. I was very concerned it was the ECU, but everything else seems to be fine.
I'm at a loss of what to do now. It drives, but is missing some important things like locking doors and functioning windows. I don't know what else to check. Does anyone have any idea what path I go down from here?

Seems to me the water got into the door panel….. and possible the driver and passenger side foot wall areas, where lights control ECUs are located. The power door control units are located in front door panel. Also if your power mirror controller malfunction, that include the auto dimmer and heating, the mirror control units are also located inside door panel.

Did the car wash have Underbody Sprayers activated ? These spray nozzles put out 3,000+ psi ... and if a sealed electrical connector takes a direct hit ...
Search this forum ... others have experienced similar high pressure car wash issues.

Sunroof drain clogged? Any water down the A pillar? There's a bunch of spaghetti and modules behind the dash panel below the vent near the a pillar.

It's the weird scattering of things that don't work, coupled with all of the rest that work just fine that is confusing.
