Sequoia changes is a predictor of next GX redesign
Toyota just released the specs on the 2013 Sequoia. The next GX will have the spindle treatment and entune for sure, but it is a good bet that it will get blu-ray and blind spot warning. These are two critical options the next GX needs to have. I hope that it has more options also. The GX's engine is a destuned version of the Sequoia engine.
2013 Toyota Sequoia Offers Industry-First Blu-Ray Rear Seat Entertainment System
• 381-HP V8 now standard on all models
• Toyota First-New Blu-RayŽ Rear Seat Entertainment System
• Available Entune™ Multimedia System
• Blind spot monitor enhances safety for changing lanes
The Toyota Sequoia, which offers seating for up to eight in a full-size, full-capability sport-utility vehicle (SUV), gains new family friendly entertainment features for 2013. The Sequoia debuts a Toyota-first Blu-Ray rear seat entertainment system, and 2013 also marks the first full year of Toyota Entune™ availability.
The standard Trailer Sway Control system uses the Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) to help counteract handling forces acting on the SUV in an effort to minimize the impact of trailer sway. The Sequoia's towing hitch is integrated into the frame as a single unit.

GX is a different platform. All Toyota products share technologies (like Entune, etc...). Leverages economies of scale, but the Sequoia is not the be all predictor of the future GX.
On another note, my GX is in because the fuel gauge isn't working properly (or fill valve). Have 2 miles remaining, needle on empty and I put 19.5 gallons in a 23 gallon tank.
Got a 2013 RX as a loaner. We have a 2010 RX. Like the 13 looks better. It has blind spot detection, nice feature for sure.

The Sequoia is based off the Tundra while the GX 460 is based off the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado platform. The two SUV's are not related other than the engine choices.
