Anyone knows which 0w-20 oil make less noise?
Just google "quiet Lexus oil models" and you will find plenty of results.

Sorry ... but Costco Oil ? ... saving maybe $20 per oil change ... do the cost-per-mile calculation ... and buy a premium brand oil of your choice.

OEM Bolt quality is not bad ... the threads become locked from road contamination ... and even worse ... from winter road salts ... so using anti-seize compound on the threads is important for any "under-carriage" fasteners. Unfortunately, Lexus/Toyota did not apply from the factory ...

If excessive torque is required ... (slightly) alternate between the loosening and tightening directions to free up the locked threads before attempting to remove. This will free-up the thread corrosion. Beyond that ... "PB Blaster" is your friend ... it has capillary action that will penetrate frozen threads ... which applied (hours) before removal ... will almost guarantee a no-drama fastener removal.

Default 10K oil change intervals...seriously?

After reading most of the input provided in this thread regarding oil change intervals I am more convinced than ever to buy my cars new. I purchased two 2023 GX 460s over the past year and intend to keep them for many years to come. In addition, I changed the oil in both vehicles at the 1000 mile break in period and intend to continue changing the oil/filter every 3-5K or every six months. I am 66 years old and have always done my own oil changes Sure the skid plate is kind of a pain but not quite as bad as others have refenced in this thread. I use factory filters and Valvoline HM or Penzoil UP oil. In performing the service myself I take comfort in know it has been done correctly using premium products. 10K oil changes is short sighted and was implemented as a selling gimmick by Lexus/Toyota designed to cover the warranty period. After that we are on our own. Now if your plan is to flip your GX 460 every few years ok but the next owner of that vehicle will have to deal with any potential problems due to extended service intervals.

Is this a straight swap out for the plastic one that comes with the GX? Any need to change the oil filter p/n used with the plastic housing? It would seem not with the extended center tube, but asking in case I'm missing anything.

Pennzoil Ultra Platinum (UP) makes the startup noise quieter on all my vehicles (including the GX). Both Lexi get the Pennzoil UP while the Kirkland brand oil is reserved for the 200k+ Honda.
