Oil and Filter Changes & Oil Filter Metal Retrofit Discussion

This stuff looks very interesting but I have been saved by never-seize (many times over many years) and would not even consider not using it on bolt threads. No matter how much time has passed (under any conditions, especially extreme heat) that bolt will break loose easily. I think this fluid film is more of a film protectant. I will get some and try it for many other applications that never-seize would not be practical!

it keeps everything looking brand new and corrosion free.

I don't know if all dealers actually change it at the first 5K but I'd pay to have it done. 10K is a lot on oil in a new engine.
From the maintenance schedule it says inspect and adjust at 5K and change at 10K:
6 Months or 5,000 Miles1
❑ Inspect and adjust all fluid levels ❑ Program Lexus Personalized Settings,
if requested ❑ Reset maintenance reminder light ❑ Rotate tires ❑ Visuallyinspectbrakepads, calipersandrotors ❑ Inspect wiper blades ❑ Check installation of driver’s floor mat ❑ Road-test vehicle
Note: If you drive primarily under certain special operating conditions, you should also replace the engine oil with 0W-20 oil and replace the oil filter. See page 44 for conditions that apply. Some conditions require additional maintenance. See below.
12 Months or 10,000 Miles2
❑ Replace engine oil with 0W-20 oil; replace oil filter
❑ Reset maintenance reminder light ❑ Rotate tires ❑ Visuallyinspectbrakepads, calipersandrotors ❑ Inspect wiper blades ❑ Check installation of driver’s floor mat ❑ Road-test vehicle
