i would consider swapping out my whole front end for this look, not sure about cost though, and wiring likely a little different, but that i could figure out.. Doubt the pins and bolts would change much in location

I never really loved the front end or the rear of the GX460. I didn't like the rounded part of the headlight or the reverse lights on the rear bumper, they looked out of place to me. The '14 still has a goofy rounded part, just on the side of the light this time but overall I think this version of the spindle looks good. The rear bumper looks perfect. Maybe I will trade mine in after the hype dies down next year.

The new GX front grille actually helps the vehicle's exterior.

Much much better.

P.S.
With that said, I CANNOT say the same for the facelifted front grille of the new Prado (Land Cruiser 150)

My goodness, it looks even uglier than my grandmother.

EPIC FAIL

The Prado looks like a very poor adaptation of Toyota Venza front end.

Why does it only have 301hp? It's a huge V8...

It's a de-tuned naturally aspirated truck engine with relatively low compression ratio.

Why is it 'de-tuned'?

No direct injection. The HP numbers are normal for a non-turbo engine which also lacks direct injection. It also makes it a more dependable and reliable part. No worries about turbo going out in the middle of nowhere or carbon build up on injectors.

Plus the fact that they tuned it to prioritize torque over HP (which is what SUVs need more of).

Hey, it's still good in my opinion.

Unless you guys want a GX400 like the ones that are imported into Mainland China

It is about right for HP, the Tundra has 310 so I am sure it could get a little more squeezed out of it. I think the Land Cruiser 4.6 pushes 318.

With all due respect, please don't speak for me. I'm interested in everyone's opinions, whether they are laudatory to the GX or not.

4.6L 1UR-FE LC200 sold in Aus and Russia are rated at 309HP. Doubt anyone will ever feel any difference.

Now 1UR-FSE with direct injection is a totally different story.

The 4.6 in the GX was tuned to provide a smoother/quieter engine. By requiring premium fuel they were able tune (cam/valve timing) the achieve this, even sacrificing HP.
