Battery - questions, concerns, and/or problems

I ended up second guessing myself and took another look at my battery as I had no issues installing it on the tray and I have 24F AGM battery not a 27F. The charging voltage is between 13.8-14.6v while float is 13.4-13.6v. Given the alternator charges at ~14v I actually don’t think I need the alt-s diode mod now. This is a Canadian manufactured battery so I’m wondering if it is just not offered in the US. May have wasted $5.... any insight?

Yes, since I already have it in the mail it seems like there is no harm in doing it anyway... I have seen some videos measuring the charge of the GX460 alternator at a steady 14v though at idle so it made me second guess since the sticker indicates it is charging at 13.8v and above.

So I have had a Champion 24F AGM battery installed since April and this is the first time I have come across something like this. Let me watch this video and see what I need to do now. (Also just put an AGM in my wife's 2017 Ford Edge last week)

ford edge unsure because they might have a diff charging profile.

Anybody else having weird battery issues? Battery internal short, two in a row?
I had a previous post where my climate control and stereo were doing weird things. Car is still under warranty, took it in, and the day I had it scheduled, wouldn't start. They said the car battery has an internal short and that was causing all my other issues. Battery is relatively new, less than a year old. I had replaced it myself because the Lexus OEM battery that was only a few months old left me stranded in an area where there weren't any Lexus dealerships, so I had to buy one from Walmart. So I'll be on my 3rd battery in under 2 years.
My concern is, either I'm really unlucky or the car is doing something like overcharging the battery. I've never had this happen with a car before, car is daily driven. I only have a few weeks left on the warranty, any ideas?
Thanks

Sometimes batteries are junk. Had that issue with an Interstate battery on my LS430. Now I just buy them from Costco because they are cheap and the warranty is good. In AZ, much like TX, the hot climate can also do a number on them so I usually just replace them every three years anyways. YMMV.

For some reason Lexus batteries can be problematic ... many cases of early failures are documented on many used but relatively new cars I've looked at. I've also experienced it a few years back on Lexus cars I've owned. Nothing to worry about, they'll replace it under warranty and the battery warranty will start over.

AGM battery?
2016 GX battery drained completely. Car isn’t driven much. Sometimes not for weeks at a time Decided to replace battery with a Champion AGM 24 battery. Good idea? Any voltage issues? Is AGm better for infrequently driven cars?

the gx does drain the battery over time. either disconnect the terminal when not in use or trickle charge it.
as for the agm battery, you'll need a voltage booster. here are some options

Yes, or overtime an AGM battery will be destroyed. Others will say it's no big deal, and perhaps 2-3 years out of a battery is enough, but AGM's are designed for 5-10 year lives if maintained properly.
I should say I just did the GM diode mod for 8 bucks and achieved the same result as an ARC Light.
