Default Size 35 AGM Battery- fit for 2017 GX.

Hello,

I have 2017 GX (Executive) with almost 20k Miles. The size 24F are out of stock in Costco Canada web site (Costco.ca). Costco claims the size 35 AGM will also a fit for the vehicle.
Just wondering if someone have any experience and used Size 35 AGM battery in their GX460?
Here is the link:

Here is Size 24F:

Thanks

BAT 9824F | NAPA Auto Parts | - Buy Car & Truck Parts Online (napaonline.com)

I purchased this one from Napa, fit like a glove and works well. I also added Arclight voltage booster.

I installed one of the Costco Interstate 27F in mine... I could sense the old battery was starting to lose some capacity... of course outside of warranty.

As stated above they do fit fine in the battery tray. I read somewhere that these often had to be ordered in at Costco but mine north of Seattle had a lot of them.

It doesn't have the stats of the MT-27

but is a step up from the 24F that Costco sells for GX

did you use another power source to prevent power loss while switching the battery?

I did not. The vehicle had been off for around 30 minutes. I did get that initial stall at start that can occur but fired right up next time.

Other than driving short distance to get my steering direction indicator back I haven't noticed anything else awry. I think the nav region got reset last time but will need to double check.

Default Another battery question…..?

My local COSTCO has H6(48) AGM battery in stock and costs $158.99. Since I was not able to find 27F battery at near by COSTCO, and H6 has the just about same physical size as 27F, is there any specific reasons that I could not use H6 instead? On paper, it gives much more juice than 27F and 24F.

I don’t have lots of background and knowledges on battery, any comments are welcome!

Thanks in advance.

Can’t think of one... what’s the weight compared to the oem? Same dimensions to fit in the tray?

Fits perfectly. The weight is about a few lbs more than OEM.

Update: Did replace the OEM, and found out the weight is about the same.

Din’t know that and wasn’t thinking about it. I will take a hard look if this will need to be done. I have seen lots of debating on regular vs. AGM batteries. I am let it run few days to see how it perform. Any definitive information if GX alternator will not working well with AGM?

I think the GX alternator capacity is fine. The voltage booster is apparently to raise the charging voltage for the AGM or it never gets quite fully charged and could affect overall AGM lifespan.

Yes. I did a measure for the alternator charging voltage, it indicates 14.27v on the charging. I thing that I am good to go. Besides, I do have a AGM compatible battery tender charger, if the car sits longer, I can always charge it. Will see how this one lasts. My OEM still good ok, but does show struggling during winter. It just passed 7 years mark.

I purchased a NAPA AGM battery and installed the arclight voltage booster several months ago. I have not had any issues and install was very simple.
