I put a curt hitch on my 2016. I did not want to cut the bumper so i emailed curt, told them of the issue, and had them send me a top plate that matched the profile of my hitch. It was free from them and it was painted to match.
I went to NAPA and bought longer bolts to account for the plate thickness. The bolts were about $1 a piece.
Do not use a washer between the hitch and be vehicle. When you do that, you will introduce bolt bending and can fatigue the bolt. Curt will take care of you.

It seems too low to me, but if it is legit you should do it. I would drive to PA if it wasn't that far away to have it done myself.

Curt engineer said that standard bolts would be long enough. That is not the case. I will need to get longer bolts as another poster mentioned. I am starting to wonder if I should buy and install the factory hitch.

Will try later. Basically it is the mounting plate of the hitch without the receiver tube. Think of it as a doubler for the mounting plate. Powder coated/painted just like the hitch. Quality piece but for the effort I am spending and the fact that we are introducing a potential failure point and I am sourcing my own bolts, the factory hitch is starting to sound better.

which dealer? $310 installed for factory hitch. I don't mind driving 1-2 hours away from NYC.
Thanks!

Looks good!! Cool when you get a quick 5 minute job like that. I've got a couple of those WT bump steps myself.

As most of you the OEM tow hitch from Lexus has been recalled/discontinued for some time now. This hitch is rated for 6k pounds . the only hitch i can find now is the Curt 4 bolt. it has rating of 500# for TW and 5000# max towing. My travel trailer is 4000 pounds loaded and wet. my question is im gonna be close to Tounge weight capacity, would it help if in addition to bolting the hitch i welded it? just curious what everyone else is doing?
