Early on when I purchased my 2010 GX460 (in 2012), I found a similar thread/solution for the 4 Runner. It requires tightening the steering rack (there is a more detailed/technical description, but it's been so long that I've lost the description). The downside of this is that the steering is tight and tries to center itself with more force than usual. This requires steering input when driving on the slope side of a crowned highway. It was annoying for a long time, but I got used to it.
I also make sure to only purchase tires and have them installed, rotated, wheels aligned, and tires road-forced balanced at my dealer. Further, my service manager understands to only install tires and road-force balance as close to "perfect" as possible - the Lexus tolerances leave too much leeway.
I now have 140k+ miles on my GX it drives very well and I keep it looking like new. Love not having a car payment!

I can relate to the others saying they think about it a lot...I really would like to keep my vehicle longer as its in fantastic shape other wise and always serviced at the dealer, except tires. They blame my issues on getting my tires elsewhere. I even had them balance my last set. They claimed they were unable to balance them and that they were defective (Defenders) so I am now just recently replaced w Latitudes. I haven't driven on the freeway just yet but can assume I am still shaking, just less.
Has anyone been able to have this service done, Steering Rack Preload Spring, outside of warranty? I have been dealing with this FOREVER and first time seeing this service bulletin! If not, how much was it?
I think the part is less than $3 IIRC, a couple of $3 hose clamps and TSB states 4.2 hours of labor. I believe my local Lexus dealer charges $160/hour IIRC

2018 GX 460 2nd gen Seat vibration in park slight but annoying
I have 2018 GX 460 with 16k, it is my third one. I find that when in park I feel a slight vibration in the seat, the passenger can feel it also. Hot or cold does not matter. or if the the ac is on or off. The tach is steady at 1200 rpm. Help!! I brought it to Lexus no codes come up. I was hoping it was spark plug, coil or throttle bottle though they said code would come up!
Whenever I have the rear cup holder down, it rattles like crazy. Tuck it it and it helps alot but I do see the passenger side rear sear shakes more than than the driver side. I'll try the tower TSB lol.
Yeah, I had the same problem in my 2010, vibration in the steering wheel and seat and the steering wheel was slightly off-center. I took it into the dealer, had the wheels balanced and an alignment and it much, much better. Wasn't cheap, but happy I did it.
There is a TSB for this, it’s a modification inside the rear of the seat. I’ll try to paste the link to it. I still have it but it don’t really bother me.
I have an annoying vibration that you can feel in the driver & passenger seats when you start the car and idle (tach steady, does not matter if AC is on or off. It is a 2018 Lexus GX 460 with 16k miles on it. It is my 4th one and never had this issue. The dealer says it is summer gas, which I only put premium-grade gas highest octane. No codes came up and they added a gas additive. They said to drive it to put a few more tanks of gas in, drive it on the highway and really get on it. And it will work itself out. Does this sound right? Anyone else experience this? Help! Hopeless in MASS!

When it vibrates, what is the RPM? cold start or operating temps?
When cold first started it is 1100 and then it warms up and went to 8 then waited another minute it bounced a little upto 9 then to 8, I put in park it dropped to 8, then dropped to 7. Can tell at times engine does not run smooth, but only for a brief second. Since it has been out of service which was Tuesday, it is running worse.
At 700 RPM the engine should be very smooth. Mine used to dip to around 500 rpm then it shakes and vibrates. I used some piston/cylinders cleaner plus Shell gas and it hasn't done that for the last 10k+ miles. Also, take it up to 3000-4000 rpm once in awhile.
Did you find it immediately ran smoother? The dealer did some type of injector cleaner but running worst than before. How long should I keep at 3-4000? I always use premium. Do you have a GX 460?
