Unfortunately you have not "studied" the issue sufficiently to claim cause-effect, only correlation. This is very typical of most posts that claim they found the cause only because after the "last thing they did" the symptoms went away.

thats nice but ive never heard of even warped rotors causing vehicle to shake. your brake pedal would pulse at ALL speeds since the warp is always there. doesnt make sense your description but glad u got it fixed. ironically i got all new brakes calipers on my gx and vibration or shake is still there. im convinced its the hard michelin defenders and will be getting new tires with 4 runner rims next week.

Just bought a 2015 gx460 and I've noticed a very light vibration in my brake pedal. It doesn't do it all the time. Just curious if anybody else has this issue or had this issue or if its just normal.

This is not normal, a solid guess would be that one or more of your brake rotors are warped. If it bothers you a lot you may want to consider replacing rotors (I wouldn't resurface but many mechanics will tell you that you should resurface instead of replacing them). I am against resurfacing since it just diminishes the rotor's usable life and makes it more likely to warp again.

+1 what he said, it’s a pretty common occurrence from my experience with the GX470 and 460.

I always replace the rotors when that starts happening. Seldom do i ever resurface. It’s also a sign your rotors are getting too hot with your driving patterns. Try cross drilled Rotors next time around.

I have a similar issue with my recently bought 2018. There is pronounced vibration ( steering and gas pedal ) betwen 55-70 mph!! Driving below 55 or above 70 is smooth!

Good thing it's still under original warranty, so the dealership is trying to zero in.. Changes done so far, mostly in vain :

1. Replaced all 4 tires ( needed to anyway ) - Out of pocket
2. Road Force Balance ( this helped quite a bit ) - Out of Pocket
3. Alignment - Out of Pocket
4. Rear struts ( warranty )

Still have it.. taking it in again at the dealership next week :|

Same issue as the initial poster. 1750 miles. Taken to dealership in Birmingham AL. Shop foreman has had the car for 16 days now. We are in the 3rd set of tires. Changed from Dunlop to Yokohama. Changed 4 more tires. Ordered a 4th set as of this week. They insist the issue is the tires. Vehicle has had front end alignment. All tires balanced and road force tested. It’s actually getting worse. I drove it this week at the request of the service manager and the shop foreman. They have opened a case with Lexus. I have called 800 number. Nobody really knows how or what to do to fix it. They have put almost 300 miles on the car driving to figure out the issue.

any thoughts? At what point do I start exploring the buy back program or asking for another car?

The Lexus dealer was unable to resolve my issue and the Service Manager told me that the GX 460 was within specs. I did not want to go to another dealer. I ended up trading the 2021 GX 460 Sports model for a 2018 Cadillac Escalade Luxury.

2017 GX460, base model, 60k miles, new tires.

When driving at slower speeds on rough roads (dirt roads, rough gravel roads, very choppy snow covered roads) I experience a violent shaking, rattling, and vibration in my steering wheel. My tires are balanced, suspension is newish, alignment is good. The vehicle drives perfectly on paved, smooth roads, at all speeds. I have taken this problem to the Lexus dealership and they have admitted there is a problem but are clueless as how to fix this. The vehicle is still under L-Certified warranty and I am a bit frustrated as to how Lexus does not know how to fix this. Any idea what's going on here?

No, but that is troubling coming from Lexus. My first thought is suspension control arm, not sure thats even what it’s called but it shouldn’t be hard to duplicate. Let us know. Good luck.

Thinking back (maybe 2018) and I would have to check previous posts of mine years back but I had some vibration issues with my LTX MS/2 after a tire swap from winter X-Ice. A road force balance discovered a flat spotted tire that was replaced. This did fix things but on some occasions I would get a slight vibration on certain road surfaces. 6 months after putting on full Timbrens and in 4 years since have never noticed any vibrations ever.

I did use Timbrens though and front ones are in contact all the time

I have often wondered if it was a result of the front ones
