Thumbs up 2014 GX 460 Luxury or 2014 LX 570

If you guys had the chance to do it over again, would you pick a 2014 GX 460 Luxury or 2014 LX 570 and why? The GX has the latest and greatest but lacks some space that the LX offers, and the one thing that turns me away from just jumping straight to the LX is there's no damn BSM (blind spot monitor). The GX/LX will be for my wife and kids and since you guys already own a GX, I figure this would be the best place to get some great opinions and/or advice. Any input is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance guys!

For all of the extra useable space and power, I wish I had just gone LX. Its not as if the GX is particularly efficient anyways. I kind of think of it like I should have just dove all the way in to the SUV lifestyle with an LX. I will probably get one in a couple of years.

If I could of afforded a LX or Toyota Landcruiser that's what I would of bought. The GX is no bigger than a Honda Pilot on the inside. It's crazy how expensive vehicles are now a days. If it doesn't hurt your bottom line I say go big or go home. What ever you end up choosing you can't go wrong with the resale down the road

If you want LX and can wait -- I would, for the next gen coming in 2015 as 2016 model. I'm sure that will have all the gadgets. Current LX is basically 2008 model year design so no wonder it starts lacking some features in its price category.

Default Third row seats suck.

The third row seats suck, and you have no secure storage in the storage area. That and the real world gas mileage is what kept me away from the LX. I'm not thrilled with the barn door, however its better than a half split rear with no secure cover and third row that sticks up. If they offered it in the diesel, and had fold flat third row, I would sign up tomorrow!

If I could have afforded the LX I would have purchased that, I like the bigger vehicle, the GX is too small for my tastes.

LX all the way if money is no object. It is better all around but to me not $20k + better.

I'd love an LX or a LandCruiser, but, they're so darn expensive.

My heart says LX, but my head says GX, much cheaper to buy, maintain and insure. I would rather invest the difference... I have had my share of luxury vehicles over the years and figured out how much money I could have saved if I had been more logical.

For one reason only ... If you really suffer from back pain .. test drive the GX thoroughly, particularly in a stop n go traffic .. The seats in the GX are plain horrible !!

That's weird, the seats in my 2010 and 2014 are very comfortable...

I'm in that predicament right now! looking at a 2014 LX570 and was shocked it didn't have the BSM on it--you kidding me lol. Besides that OH BOY what a nice ride. I kinda don't like the 3rd row seats that fold up like mine do and wish they folded flat like newer GX does, oh well not a deal breaker. They are giving me a price of 500 over invoice 85,900 (91500-Msrp) which is a great deal I think--they offered me that price without a blink too lol, maybe because this is my 4th L from the dealership. I'm still deciding at the moment

Same seats across model years. I set it for one position .. and that's it, and any try to change it will cause a back pain. Never had such an issue with other car that I owned including wife's 2012 Land Cruiser !!

The current LX is weird to me. It definitely seems to have its offroad capability neutered compared to the Land Crusier and GX. For example, the LX has 50-series tires and no KDSS. Weak. They definitely spec'd it for rich soccer mom/on road/mall cruising duty. If I could have afforded it, I would have bought a Land Cruiser above all. It is the once and future king. I'd choose a Land Cruiser over the LX. But the GX is kinda like a baby Land Crusier/LX hybrid....some of the Land Cruiser capability, some of the LX luxury, in a smaller more affordable package.....so that works for me.
