Someone keyed our '2014 GX
Well some low life keyed my wife's new '14 GX passenger door at work. I hand wash all the cars every Saturday. I noticed last week that there was a deep scratch on the passenger door. Question now is the cheapest quote I have to repair is $1,100. Should I file it and have it show up on Carfax or pay for it out of pocket and not show up? Seems like you can't ever have anything nice.

So sorry for you man, that truly sux. I have been off-roading in my jeep for more than 15 years, worst damage on sheet metal was from some low life keying it. I hate these bastards, vandals and thieves need to find themselves at the end of our baseball bats, not that I'm promoting violence.

Bummer, Carfax will show it as minor damage and you can prove to a buyer with the repair receipt and pics what it was for. I don't think it would concern a buyer if the repair is not obvious.

That is terrible! What is wrong with people these days? Someone did the same thing to my son's XTerra when it was just a few days old. Good luck with your repair and as someone said keep all your receipts and photos. That is what my son's insurance told him to do. He has scratched it up some going off road but man, that is a punch in the gut on a brand new vehicle.

I'm going to see if they have surveillance in the parking garage Tuesday. It's a 14 story parking garage you apparently have to have a parking pass to enter it.

Seriously though, could there be any surveillance available?[/QUOTE]

Some low lifes know they would never amount to too much in this world and will never be able to afford a car like that so that's their way to take a revenge for how much of a failure they are.
You should file a claim under vandalism and probably do a police report so you have a paper trail. Your insurance should fix this without rising your premium and you only pay the deductible. Lexus certified body shop will repaint the panel and blend with adjacent panels so you will never know it happened plus give you life time warranty for the paint job so effectively it will be as good as new.

I Have a dash cam with a SD card only. I looked into the models you guys are referring to and like the WIFI on it and found an upgraded model BlackVue DR550GW-2CH Dual Channel so you can have a true forward dash cam and I am thinking the additional cam would be good to mount on the windshield looking back so you are covered both ways. I do however see possible problems with lighting along with the tinted windows and do not like that the 2nd cam must plug into the main cam (Bluetooth would be nice but already an option crammed device) with what seems to be a 20 foot proprietary connection so to fit all in the overhead available area would be difficult.

I figured if I ever wanted a rear facing camera I'd better buy a second one.
