I put a 85% (nearly clear) ceramic on the full windshield and ceramic on the front sides to match the rear windows. The windshield blocks a ton of heat. Have been doing my windshields for 15 years or so, it works - just do not go too dark.
As others have mentioned, window tint that is too dark is bait to get stopped for no real reason. As a general rule, if the officer cannot see through the vehicle when it passes by, it is not legal. You get be legal and still get the temperature reduction desired. The nano-ceramic stuff is awesome.
A local tint shop is reluctant to touch my '21 GX, citing possible use of UV coating on the inside of the front windows. Research leads me to believe this is specific to the NX, and possibly some other Lexus models but NOT the GX. There's also no mention of such UV coating on the glass within the owner's manual (the NX explicitly states this, on the other hand). Looking at this thread (and this awesome forum in general), I see no mention of such coating. All clear to tint?

Find another tint shop. I had no issues getting tint applied to my 2019 to match up with the factory tint on the rears.
Thanks a lot! That looks great. What's the silver called? It has a similar wet look as my Liquid Platnium ISF.
Thanks. In 2019 that color was called "Silver Lining". I have a great local tint shop who has done over a dozen cars for me. He used his top of line ceramic film in "medium" and it matches the factory rear tint very well but not so dark as to cause any hassle with local PD.

Nice! I'd like to do the same. You mind referring/sharing the shop name so I can have mine done.
The shop I use is Mr. Tint in Norco CA. Right across street from USPS and DMV.
Thanks! I lived in Eastvale and used to go to Norco Medical Group which is on the same street as the USPS - Town and Country Drive. I'll check them out.

You got it! I've lived in Eastvale for the past 15 years! Mr. Tint is convenient, and if you make an appointment you can simply wait 30 mins while he takes care of it. Free snacks and beverages provided in the waiting room, or there's a craft brewery right next door!
For you Houston folks, Royz in Cypress is probably the best tint shop in town. Their attention to detail is second to none. They removed my old tint that was peeling on the front windows and added 25% ceramic. This pretty much matches the rest of the windows.
