Premium from Costco ( costs as much as regular at Shell, Exxon, BP, RaceTrack, Buc-ees, etc.. )

Default Is 87 octane ok?

I believe the gx460 likes premium fuel, 91 octane, but I’m wondering if it is ok to run 87. I know some manufacturers say premium fuel to optimize hp and performance, but a number of them that recommend premium, are ok with the 87. Not sure about the gx but with today’s fuel prices I figure I’d ask.

Well at least this is how it is in canada, not sure if the premiums have ethanol down in the states or not.
Absolutely not true in the United States.

Always a controversial topic.... but interesting read from someone on IH8Mud who claims they "work specifically on steady state operations within engine calibration at an OEM"

Default Using 2 cycle oil/ gas mixture

I bought a gallon of gas and mixed in a small bottle of 40:1 oil to put in my chain saw. Long story short, chain saw went south but I hate to waste almost a gallon of gas and wondered if I put in my 2022 GX would it hurt anything?

Could damage the O2 sensors, the catalytic converters ... I sure wouldn't use it

With all due respect, your GX is worth way more than your chainsaw. I'd save it for a bonfire instead.

Not recommended. Hell no. If you do at least make a YouTube video of it 😆 it could go either way.

Nothing adding a gallon of diesel fuel won't fix

Top it off with a can of Red bull and that should get you some like minded viewers. Kidding! Don’t do it.

Well looks like the jury vote is in. Not worth taking a chance to mess something up. Will just keep the gas to give to a neighbor. As a side note I ended up renting a electric chainsaw from Home DePot. Had a huge limb fall on my driveway. Luckily no cars were parked or dogs hit.😄
