just bring the damn car to a bodyshop am sure it won't cost more then the time and effort u putt in ..... u r driving a lexus gx not a lada
Its a crappy design, there is like an 1/8"wide x .04" thick piece of plastic and when that gives, the bumper starts popping out. Kind of hard for a body shop to fix it unless they are good at welding polypropylene. Your almost better off replacing the whole bumper skin, but painting again, forget about it.
So I bought this ‘12 last week for my wife. Zero issues other than the front bumper. I assume the previous owner bumped into a trailer hitch or one backed into it. There is a small crack below the front tag bracket. The problem is on both side the corners of the lower portion stick out below the headlights.
Any ideas on how to fix this? Best way to attack? I’m trying to decide if removing the headlights or inner fender is the best route to gain access.
Thank you for the info. That helps tremendously. I certainly don’t want the issue to spread so I think I’ll attack it soon. I guess I’ll try to access the upper corners from the underside. I really don’t want to pull the entire headlight.
That is an interesting tear there. Do you think it could be caused by pressure to retain bumper with the wire method? The front bumper cover does seem to be the weakest body part of the GX. A few of the '14+ off roaders on GXOR have experienced the issue as well so not isolated to 10-13.

That definitely looks like a stress tear from the wire, probably from vibration. I have a similar issue and I didn’t think about it too much, I just pulled it apart squeezed some liquid nails in there and clamped it together for a few hours...I did that a year ago. So I think if the right glue or epoxy is used it may work.

It may also be adhered to the bottom of my headlight too LOL, hopefully that don’t need replacing

OP mentioned that the wire was on the other side of the car. So unless it was pulled so tightly it caused extra strain on the other end of the bumper, I don't see how this could be due to the wire.
