Looking to buy a GX
Hello Everyone,
I currently have a 14 GS350, and am now looking to upgrade my wife's SUV (Acura RDX)
Seriously considering the GX460, comparing GL350/450 which is significantly more money, thus leaning towards the GX.
I have a family member who has a 2010 GX Premium, I have driven it several times, and to me it seems a little unstable on the road. Does anyone experience this with the 2014/2015 models?
Any other advice you guys can give me would be great.
How is the "real' fuel economy for all city driving?
Does anyone have good winter driving experience?
Which package would you recommend for the bang for the buck?
Thanks for your help everyone,
Robert

I recently replaced an ML55 AMG with a '15 GX premium (leather, front parking sensors & 3-zone a/c were important in this decision) . Swore off MB forever, if that helps.
Cross shopped it with X5, Cayenne & Toureg.
I still have an impractical car, so thought I'd go more practical (3rd row, towing, cabin space w/seats folded & reliability) w/the GX. I've had it for a couple of weeks now, & like it better every day.
I'm getting 12.8 mpg on 93 octane in city/suburb driving in a hilly area, but am only @ 500 miles.
If I were to buy another tomorrow, I'd still get the GX but with the luxury package, though I am happy with what I did get.

I like my 2014 much better than my 2010. I get 14.5-16 MPG in city driving. My mileage is worse in the winter.
The Mercedes GL 450 I took for a test drive drove like a station wagon, very boring. The GX 460 is great in the snow, I've never been stuck in the snow and ice. I have the Luxury model 2014 and had the Premium model on my 2010. If I were buying it again, I would get the Luxury model again with the Mark Levinson stereo. I have the Mark Levinson stereo in my 2014 and had it in my 2010. It sounds better in the 2014, they must have improved it. I run 93 octane Mobil premium fuel. I think my 2014 drives better than my 2010. I had the dealer swap the stock Bridgestone tires for Michelin LTX M/S2's. They're a much better tire.
Good luck with your decision...

the loaded 2014 luxury drives way better than a loaded 2010 gx premium, and i still have the
bridgestones on mine, but will replace them when worn.
Better in looks, braking, noise level, led lights way better than HID, and loads of other features.
never buy german, unless you want an m3 or m4, then its ok

Love the 2014 GX. Sucks in gas, but this is my first suv. Build quality is great, design need some very minor improvements. I'm looking to own this for as long as I can. I would buy it again, and recommend it over ALL other suv's on the current market.

....just a small advice...get that extended warranty before the end of your first year, if you plan to keep it for long...you'll be happy you did. ...I was. Good luck and enjoy the ride...
