It is unfortunate that this is needed for a luxury vehicle.

I just ordered a set of these: Front Seat Jackers from Desert Does It....someone on one of the other forums recommended them. SImple bolt on but the change in angle is supposed to help quite a bit. Might actually be the first mod I am doing before hzhao ;-)

Me as well, I like my seat but do like a higher thigh area. Like the OP, I got rid of a 12 F150 Platinum to get this. Seats in that were great.

New '17 GX owner, just to add my own experience, I think I had the same problem as several people in this thread. No matter where I would position the seat I would end up with a lower back ache after ever a short drive. Following rmtannerjr's guide in this thread and the PDF instructions for removing the seat back in this thread, I was able to disconnect the active head rest cable from the lower seat assembly. Taking the tension off that lower assembly made a HUGE difference in seat comfort to me, and lets me push the lumbar support out to a natural position, where before I had to keep it fully retracted.

Big thanks to rmtannerjr and hzhao for posting the info that helped me fix this problem

WHere do you guys put your wallets? If you have something like a wallet in your back pockets, it will give you massive lower back pain. I lived through it for 2yrs before figuring that out.

Update: Finally got around to installing the seat jackers. Took about 10 minutes. IMMEDIATE relief to my lower back and thighs. Note: I am 6'5 so I had two initial problems with the seats: 1) lower back ache 2) soreness in the front of my thighs behind my knees where the angled seat would cut in. Both of these issues would only occur on 1hr + trips.

Easiest way to explain this is that (for me) it totally aligned my lower back/hip bone with the back of the seat. I felt immediate support where I used to have a "gap" between my lower back and the seat. I was also able to "lower" the front tilt of the seat so it no longer puts presser on my thighs.

Big road trip to the Bourbon trail in Mid-April so I will report back after that 9hr drive which will be the real test.

Cheap way for you guys to test this would be to remove the front seat bolts and prop up the front of the seat with some wood blocks. It won't be very stable but will give you an idea of the new seat angle before you make the investment.

Cheers.

Before Shot with WeatherTech Liner

Before Shot - note flush end cap on carpet

During shot - jackers add about two inches of lift

After shot with end cap - note gap between cap and carpet - looks a lot worse in the pic than in person

After shot - the lip of the weathertech liner covers the gap between carpet and cap in the front; side is still exposed but not too bad.

How was the road trip with these? I just installed a set in mine but haven't driven it yet. Super easy installation.

Perhaps I missed it somewhere but I don't recall you having any issues with the driver's seat Acrad.

I haven't in the past but my sciatic nerve has been acting up the last few months on longer drives so thought I would test this out.

I’ve been contemplating some purple seat pads since we’re going to be driving back and forth between VA and TX at least twice the next 5 months… can use them working from home in our office chairs when not on the road trips… win win

Sorry guys - I got a little preoccupied with the bourbon haul this year. The seat risers are EXCELLENT. I had two main gripes about the factory seats. 1) My lower back would not maintain direct contact with the seat over the course of a trip. 2) Angling the seat would help with my back but cause pressure on the back of my thighs above the knee. Neither were a big deal driving around town but became problematic after 2+ hrs behind the wheel.

After logging two 8+ hr segments I did not experience either issue and was would not have hesitated to hop right back in the driver's seat.

The only issue that I did notice (and it probably wouldn't happen to anyone under 6' 1") is that the increased seat height has caused some reduced traffic light visibility. I do find myself dropping my head a bit to fully see traffic lights when I am first in line at a full stop but that is a small price to pay for the increased comfort.

Cheers!

@acrad can we add this thread to the mods sticky? I saw some seat stickies but not this one.... maybe just missed it.
