Has anyone swapped out the front socket with a USB port socket? Something like:
If not does anyone see any issue with doing that? I would think you could just tie right into the wiring already there.

Best USB power in 2nd row GX460
Hi all! I remember watching a video of a gentleman installing a USB charger on the back side of the center console in a GX. Unfortunately I can’t find that video. Can anyone point me in the right direction OR let me know which charger you recommend?

I’m running 3 of these currently in my 460 tapping into the 3rd row seat power. I’ve been able to power anything I plug in.

@Funk101 Did you end up using the harness for the 2nd Row console USB or did you direct solder on the pins? If you used the harness, do you know what part number it was or where I could get one?
I don't have a problem soldering if that's easier to do. Thank you for determining the + and ground. I have the panel and ports, but I haven't wired them yet.

For the second row I used a harness which was included when I bought the OEM USB port from eBay. I don’t have the part number. I did, however, direct solder some leads to the pins for an additional OEM USB port that I installed in the third row.
For this one my buddy helped me out. We took the USB port apart down to the circuit board. Then he heated up the solder that attached the pins to the board and removed the pins along with the plastic housing (the portion that connects to the harness). He then soldered leads directly to the circuit board where the pins used to be. You could probably solder directly to the pins and avoid this step.

I might order one of the t-style harnesses
Thanks for the heads-up. I like the idea of installing additional usb/12v ports in the left side of the third row. We use our third row a-lot so the t-style power tap would be perfect. Wish I had done my homework and seen this sooner.

I did this to my GX and made a video
Still haven't decided if I'll get power from the vehicle fuse box or from my Auxiliary battery accessory fuse panel (this option will give me constant on power). Anyways enjoy:
