GX460 Rear Fog Light
#32
I searched 3 times, I cant find the post. I know I did a write up, but I am not able to find it here. I can search by user and keywords, but the search doesnt actually show the posts. I can do a quick recap here.
I bought a connector 7443 for dual filament bulb, bought the bulb, cutout the bottom housing area (its pretty well location marked).
made sure to understand the bulb angle I wanted when in final position.
I used the connector oring then used some sheet rubber to make it tighter fit
wired it up so have one filament on with headlights, the other with brakes and turn signal, through the hitch wiring.
used a step drillbit slow to complete the cutout, makes less shavings inside the housing. used a pencil with tape on the end to get shavings out.
color is red but the lower reverse light caused the camera to look orange. upper reverse was added to get better night results from backup camera

Rear Fog Light Switch
I found this switch on eBay. I haven’t connected it yet but it looks pretty good in the dash. Not 100% OEM but really close. It has 5 pins but the harness only uses 4. No instructions or diagrams were included so I’ll have to figure out the pinout. If anyone already knows please let me know. Thanks!
I’m still looking for the rear lenses with the bulb cutout. I see them on eBay but the actual items seem to be the standard ones without the rear fog bulb holes.

FYI, in case anyone decides to drill out a bulb socket holes here are the part #'s for the 2010-2013 housings. I plan on ordering me a pair and giving it a go.

I swapped the internals from it to match the white backlighting. AUTO is now tucked behind panel with an amber light. Only a 4 pin so it doesn’t have an indicator like the HEATED SW.
Here’s my attempt on cutting open the rear lamp housing(not OEM) and wired them as parking lamp and brake lamp.

Looks good. I used an OEM fog switch in the AUTO LIGHTS spot since I have no use for that feature.

Where did you find that switch, looking at the icon it's a front fog lamp switch, the sloped lines are typical front and vertical line rear fog light indication.
Still interested in the switch, is it from a 4runner or Tacoma?

Nicely done, I'm collecting parts for similar setup.
