GX 460 Roof Rails Upgrade
#61
I bought a 2022 GX blackline, but I'm also looking for the "blackline crossbars". These extend past the roof rails by a few inches.
I can't seem to find the part number for these crossbars.
I found a dealer who had the crossbars already installed.

Blackline Cross Bars 405.00
@NiteDipper Do you know where these cross bars can be purchased?

Do you own them? Pics?
where to buy? Which dealer did you talk to?
I wonder if the part comes with one or 2 cross bars
edit: ordered a set for $240. supposedly this part comes with both crossbars and hardware, even though the sticker lists the crossbars for $405. The dealer knew that the blackline roof rack was unique to 2022, and these are the only crossbars available. He said the standard crossbars wont fit the black line rack

BL rails do not have slots like a 4Runner rail.
Thanks

Hi, I've been watching this thread for a while and trying to decide what to do. I recently acquired a 2016 Premium and have decided to keep it fairly stock for the time being. With that said, I was looking at roof rack options until I decide on a platform rack (I may build one, not sure yet). I also came across a 5th gen 4runner rack with cross bars for $40 and then was reading through this thread. I was thinking of purchasing just the center brackets, cushions, and covers mentioned earlier. Does anyone know if these will fit into the 4Runner rails? They look similar enough that I may just try it and see what happens or modify if I need to have them fit. Maybe someone could post pictures of the rails and measure the distance from roof to bottom of the rail? Thanks in advance!

Rack attack or prado
Wanted to drop in and say thanks to this guide. I followed this guide for tips on adding silicone to the tower bolts and used the codes for the moulding roof trays to complete my 3 aero bar install. Btw, the cost for the roof moulding was pretty expensive for 4 pieces of rubber.
I chose the 3 bar setup for my needs in wanting the widest spread for carrying my 21' long canoes. The middle bar would be used for a cargo box for winter sports.

bad angle, but the roof mouldings are there
one reason i chose the GX, i can access the trunk fully w/ canoes loaded.

Here's some more info:

I'll go and update my post.
Here's what I added on top of the crossbars now. https://www.goodboypaddlesports.com/home/ Cliff at goodboy is very friendly to work with to do any custom racks. The one I use is their V-bar detachable system. As my canoes are very long I needed to extra length for stability. With this setup I've driven over few thousand miles and at speeds of 85mph with no shifting of any loads. He also does surf boards, SUP, and other watercraft mounts.

I've tried checking Lexus parts online but haven't found the part numbers for the Blackline rails. I'm pretty sure this is the route I'm gonna go for my '18. These rails are much more useful than the flush mounted rails most of us have on our GXs.

I started to lookup the parts from Jacket's awesome list of part numbers and in the US the costs were crazy high. I found toyotadxb and placed an order with them. Of all the parts listed, the only items they didn't have in stock were the cushions. I know Jacket said the cushions came with the rack assembly but I thought why not be safe and order everything so that installation doesn't get held up. I also added extra fasteners, again just in case.
I placed the order Jan 8th and today I received a message with photos of my order being packed for shipment. They opened the cartons with the rack assemblies (the actual rails themselves) and I saw that the cushions were in fact part of that assembly just as Jacket stated. That was a relief since I was getting ready to order those domestically. The price for all items was $600 plus shipping which came out to be $175. Shipping is steep but this total cost still comes in way way less expensive than ordering the parts in the US.
Can't wait to get the lame flush rails off the truck and these proper rails mounted.
