Default GX Dash Cam

Just ordered a SpyTec A119 Car Dash Cam. Looking forward to installing it in my GX and writing a thorough review with Pics!. Anyone have any tips on removing the Driver side A pillar trim and the plastic trim on top of the rear view mirror?

Nice GX...the wheels go well with it!

I have the same camera and will look to install it soon. I think you can wedge the wire between the windshield and the roof line, there's enough space in there. For the A pillar I think it's just holding on with clips so you can pop it out. I'll see if I just wedge it in and run to the fuse box with Add-A-Fuse.

That was how I installed the same camera in my previous truck.

Thanks, I do love my wheels.

Please take plenty of pictures, I don't think the A pillar trim just pops out though and I'm a little concerned because of the air bag there. I did buy an Add a Fuse wiring kit for 12 bucks off Amazon, seems like a pretty simple install.

I was concerned about the air bag too, no problem. I forgot to mention the overhead console removal so I just added it.

I plan to use an Invisicord for mine. Just gonna tap into the Homelink mirror. I've run in two other cars for several years without issue.

My USB adapter that I installed in the fuse box went bad. I installed this above the overhead console. Definitely a better way to go and it has several connector options for your device.

What kind of Micro SDXC card are you using for the dashcam? I'm using a 128GB Adata and it starts to have alot of issues recording. Sometimes it works for 3-4 consecutive recording (3minutes each) other times all are corrupted.
I tried a 32GB Silicon Power brand and it seems to work fine without issues. I'm thinking of getting a 64GB and see that Transcend 64GB High Endurance and Ultimate series are recommended as well as Lexar High Endurance.

I was able to tuck the cord under the A-pillar where it meets the windshield but if you want to remove the A-pillar fro a cleaner install, there's two bolts in the grab handle you need to remove. Just pop off two little covers on the handle to access the bolts.

I am using a 128GB Samsung EVO+ and haven't ran into issues the 6 months I've had it.

Thanks. I concluded that my Adata 128GB is defective. I want to get a MLC card, Transcend High Endurance is the one everyone recommends, but I couldn't find one in stock from Amazon with prime shipping so I picked up a Sandisk 64GB High Endurance too. The current 32GB Silicon Power seems to work well as a hold-over until the Sandisk arrive.

I started getting a disc error on my Transcend cam several days ago (I formatted it several times). I am using a ScanDisc Ultra Plus 64GB. I ordered a Transcend 64 and 32GB as a back up. I thought it was Amazon Prime but it was not so I am still waiting. I have had a dash cam for years and hate to be with out it

I have a 3 min.1080p dash cam video and I can't seem to find a program on my PC to edit it to 30 seconds. I just uploaded it to the Google above and it is only 360p and no option to crop the video. I tried the CL software upload and it goes to 99% and stalles. I have a youtube account but prefer to keep it off there.
Recommendations?

You might want to setup another Google account....quasi. Anon and upload video to YouTube .... just do an anon URL share out of that.
