Dare to be Spontaneous part 3, Overseas Edition (Barcelona)
While I was in Barcelona this past July, I did not have the luxury of transporting my Lexus with me. Instead, I traveled like most of the locals (via foot and/or public transportation), and was able to observe the city in motion. What I noticed, and I am sure this is true for other European and Asian cities, is that most people drive small cars/scooters. Their vehicles fit their needs, and probably not much more. Since this is a Lexus blog, I will keep the photos transportation related. My spontaneous moment this time around was my desire to see the Lexus hoverboard in person and the value of the Euro compared to the US dollar.
During my weeklong stay there, I saw one 3rd generation Lexus RX, but no GX460s, a bunch of 3rd gen Toyota Prius (mostly as taxis), an early 2000s Chevy Tahoe, and a whole bunch of weird looking small cars. Some were downright ugly for my taste, but I am sure for Barcelonans, it beats having to travel around in a scooter or bike any day.
The 2 door Prado. Short and stubby, but I like the headlights.
I am sure it's just as capable off-road.
It may not be the GX460, but it's related.
And here I thought everyone would be flying on the Lexus hoverboard by now since it was introduced in Barcelona.
The red Chevy Tahoe stuck out like a sore thumb.
Most people roll up to the clubs and restaurants in these little scooters; when they are all together on the street, they make a buzzing sound, like a swarm of bees.
Typical sized Taxis
These prices are in Euros
Higher octane than what we are accustomed to.
Small hatchbacks are very popular here
I was told bikes and motorcycles park for free in Barcelona.
During my stay there, I kept thinking how lucky we are in the US. And how much I wished I had my suv there.
