At any reputable lexus dealer it should be 1.5 hours of labor plus parts at most... which should put it under $200 in any part of CONUS. Anything over that is a ripoff... someone on here should have the clock time for a brake flush in the FSM... I'd bet it's close to .75 hours... (more dealers double FSM clocktime for non-waranty work)

I have a Motive brake bleeder kit but still researching the correct adapter kit that works with the 460 master cylinder. It definitely makes brake fluid flush easy.

For the adapter kit I had to make one out of wood for the 4runner... to.get tie down clamping points that would be able to.get a seal. I'm guessing I'll have to do something similar for the GX...

I have a Motive bleeder that I use on all my cars every 2 years. Bought an adapter for Toyotas and it fits my GX470/460, RX, and daughter’s Corolla.

Do you have part number?

https://www.motiveproducts.com/pages/application-guide

"Toyota and Lexus- The majority of Toyotas and Lexus models use a reservoir cap that is a push to seal cap. It doesn't screw on or twist to lock. Some Toyotas and Lexus use a cap that has two locking tabs that engage inside the reservoir neck. Both of these types of caps will need to use the Universal Round kit 0101 which comes with adapter 1101 or the metal version the 0119 which comes with the 1119 adapter. Note - if the reservoir is under the cowl the 1101 or 1119 will not work. Also some Toyota and Lexus use an integrated master cylinder abs unit where the ABS unit is either directly below the master cylinder or attached to the side. We do not have a kit that works with those vehicles."

I had assumed this included the 460:

Acrad- Power Probe BA10 Small Adapter for Toyota on Amazon
Looks like price went up big time. I recalled it was like $25 6 years or so ago.

I would do it every 2-3 years if you can as a preventative. Shouldn't be too much $$. Mercedes dealer used to charge $129 for the service IIRC.
The rate of water absorption has much to do with the operating environment ... temperature(s) and the relative humidity ... so the answer will be different based on where the vehicle resides ... but every 2-3 years is a good generic interval. There are testers available that indicate the (relative) amount of water absorption compared to new fluid measured as a baseline. But for the price ... why split hairs when safety is involved.

Thanks! Savings in money and time doing this myself will pay for itself the first time.

Did you go about 10 psi in Motive on your 460?

I imagine the dealer is just does that Techstream procedure that pmesfun talks about in post #7 in this other thread.

binhster did a Motive change here with a custom adapter.

I’ve done 15 psi for years and no issues. It’ll bleed fine at 12psi as well.

What I gather from attached FSM bleed instructions is the following order:

Front Right

Front Left

Rear Right

Or do I just get the adapter and a

That should work.... looks like we will need this as well. I use with other auto makes so looks like I am going to have to rig up another hose that also connects to the stock Motiv adapter.

30,000 mile brake fluid is the same across the board for every single Lexus vehicle (-LFA). look in your owners manual. Since inception. The one of the smallest maintenance to perform on the $60,000.00 vehicle.
