The REARS ... just have the car running ... and have someone gently push the brake pedal ... the pump will push fluid thru the system ... so simply bleed until no bubbles / clean fluid emerges ... no need for "pumping" and opening / closing the bleeder valve(s) per the traditional procedure. As per standard ... Right-Rear ... then Left-Rear ... then ...

The FRONTS ... bleed without the without the engine running ... and the do the traditional bleeding procedure ... opening and closing the bleeder valve with each brake pedal up-down "cycle" ... using a helper in the driver's seat. Right-Front ... then Left-Front ...

When doing the REARS ... keep a very close eye on the brake fluid level ... the pump moves lots of fluid ... one does not want to introduce air into the system.

I finished up my complete OEM brake replacement (rotors/pads/hardware) with the Motive power flush this morning. It all went well as I had hoped. The rear fluid actually looked a little dirty compared to the fronts. Now that that I have done this on this vehicle I won't think twice about doing it in the future at factory recommended intervals. It was really easy with the wheels offs. I will make sure it coincides with a summer/winter wheel swap.

... love tools ... but never understood the need ... with an extra person pumping the brake pedal, brake fluid flushing is easy ... end result is no different ...

Plenty of experience growing up with 2-person bleed… I enjoy solo vehicle work a whole lot more.

Looking back in thread BA10 used to cost around $25 in 2013/2014... I paid $42.88 for the BA10 in late 2019.

This later cap mentioned that works is around $50.




This really is an easy service no matter how you plan to do it... 2 person, vacuum, or pressure...I'll admit I was a little intimated by the electro/hydraulic brake unit unlike setup in any other car I've owned and wanting to ensure I did the job right.

Next up... due for another drain and fill on the AT this summer. It's been about 30k miles.
