Strange car phone behavior, help?
2013 GX paired with iPhone 5s via bluetooth. This has worked flawlessly for a long time but now it is acting up. When I make a call from the car with speed dials, call history or contacts, I do not hear the "ringing sound" from the car speakers. I just see "calling" and then "talking" when it is answered. I checked volume on both phone and touch screen, made sure my phone was not on mute, disconnected and paired my phone again, all to no avail. The crazy thing is sometimes it works normally, and sometimes just silence. Once the phone call is answered I can talk normally, etc. just no ringing. Yesterday, I used the redial to call "Time" about 7-8 times and it worked correctly 3 times and the others it did not. The thing Is, this necessitates looking down at the touch screen while driving to see whether it is dialing and when the call is being answered. When someone calls me it rings normally. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I am under warranty but my dealer is quite a drive away and since it does this intermittedly I am sure when I took it in it would be in a "normal" phase. Thanks all,

Yes, regular updates but my wife's phone is the same as mine, same updates and hers works fine. I also did a cold restart on the phone but it does not seem to help. Thanks for the reply.

Doing more research on the net it seems to be a problem widespread throughout various automakers since the new iOS9.2 update. In other words, Apple screwed the pooch on this one ....

I'm not sure because I don't have that on my GX but I will tell you that since the 9.2 update a lot of people on the Corvette Forum are having all kinds of issues with pairing, texts etc. Everything has pointed to Apple's most recent update.

Have an Iphone 4S (still) running IOS 9.2. It will display text, but then randomly disconnect the phone from the head unit, has done this since IOS 8.x. This can happen after text, phone calls, or trying to play music from the phone. The phone also randomly will select its own speaker instead of the GX when a call is answered, as seen on the phone screen.
Some of the problems may be Apple's, but I believe Lexus has a lot of issues with its software they just don't want to admit to. Funny but my wife's Prius has no issues with the phone.
