Either way gonna attempt for a 5 piece set whenever the bronze ray10s restock.

But to answer your question on a silver car I'd personally go matte black.

I was lucky and snagged 4 blaze10 17x 8.5 in matte black. After ordering I realized my mistake in ordering 4 rims. Went back in and they were gone. So they are out, should I get a steal rim or what should I do in the mean time for the spare?

Why not just leave the stock wheel/tire in the spare location?

I thought about that. I only plan on getting 265 70 r17. Did not want to put stress on the drive train with a different tire. I just read that this should be the same size as the spare. SCS said I needed extended lugs which I ordered. Should I keep the oem lugs in the car for the spare?

Right here is where 15 people will chime in saying “don’t do it, it will destroy your differential”. All without knowledge, experience, or data, just regurgitating what they once read on the inter web.

Manufacturers don’t put donut spares (of significantly smaller diameter than the standard tire) in many vehicles because they are on a mission to wreck differentials.

If you’re one of those people that runs your spare until it too is bald, then sure, it’s not the right choice to have a different size.

On the other hand, if you need to put the spare on so you can make it 8 miles to the tire shop today or the next you’ll be just fine.

Makes sense, I normally only rotate the 4 wheels anyway. I guess now comes to tires. Live in ATL but we go skiing in VT/NH and CO yearly, a few times to NC and once every three years out to UT. Will also go off on dirt road in national parks but nothing hardcore. I hear 4Rs with those off road tires making that awful drone sound on pavements and want to avoid that since most of my driving will be on road. I see on Costco they have Michelin that have M+S and the KO2 that are M+S and three peak. There is not much difference between the Michelin LTX(60K)vs KO2 (50K) price wise. Any other options?

Default 2019 GX460 Premium 17” wheel options

Greetings, all. I’m a new owner of a nice L/Certified 2019 premium, and I’m in search of 17 inch wheels for winter tires. Has anyone found a good tire and wheel combination that doesn’t rub? My family does a lot of winter driving through the less-traveled mountain passes in Washington State, as well as trips through remote Eastern Oregon and the California sierras, so we need robust tires with excellent ice and deep snow performance. My usual go-to tires don’t seem to be available in either 17 or 18 for the GX.

IMO the best winter tires are Nokian Hakkapeliitta, living in western Canada we live about 30 minutes east of the rocky mountains and experience 6+months of snow and ice. I personally have Nokian Hakkapeliitta 9 studded mounted on OEM 18" wheels, the traction in the winter is incredible.

I've used them on my trucks in the past. The local tire shop said these "wouldn't fit" the GX. Glad to see they're wrong!

IMO: That is quite literally the best snow tire setup with specific tire and some studs to boot

I haven't checked lately but they have been trying to ban the studded tires here in WA state for years.

In Canada 2 provinces have mandatory winter tires be installed from October through April. All provinces allow studded winter tires, but most limit their use for the months of October through April.
