What's the proper torque value for it?
Thanks guys!
You should be fine removing one nut per wheel to add wheel locks. 83ft lbs is OEM spec. Just re torque after first 100 miles and you’re golden

Default 17" set for winter?

We recently just got a used 2017 GX. The stock all-season tires on it are 265/60/18.

Is it possible to go with 17" wheels and tires for a winter setup? If so, which model Toyota/Lexus wheels would fit on the GX without additional parts or modifications?
What size tires do you guys go with on 17" wheels?

To maintain the same tire diameter, go with 265/65/17. Stock wheel offset is +25mm.

How's it going. I saw your were inquiring about going with larger wheels for your GX. Do you plan on going off-roading with your rig?

Not sure if my question should be posted here or create a new one. But here it is.

I am trying to get acquainted with knowing how to change a flat tire for my 23 GX in case AAA can not rescue me.
Following the user manual, I was able to find the jack point and simulate a tire change for the front of the car with no issue.

However I can not find an obvious jack point on the rear axle housing so that I can change the rear tire. The rear axle housing on left and right side is round. The manual said to put the jack under it.
Is it really safe and okay to do it? I am concern the axle housing may bent or get dented by the jack.

What's surprising to me is that this dealer video below shows the jack is placed under the chassis frame side rail. They aren't following the user manual.
Is this method okay?

If you have a pic that shows exactly where the jack point is for the rear housing, please share it.
Thanks!

Not sure what is all in the tire changing videos, but using wheel chocks to keep the vehicle from moving, is something to consider.
Wheel chocks came with my 80s Datsun. I don't see them in the tire changing kits anymore.

Just put on some Braid Dakar wheels (17x8, +25mm offset) with Michelin Defender LTX M/S (265/65/17).

Anyone who says tires don’t matter, are wrong..lol. Swapped out my ‘23 GX460’s piece of ***** Bridgestones, with Continental Terrain Contact H/Ts. Bridgestones transferred every little road imperfection, were loud, didn’t give confidence in wet or avoidance maneuvers. The Continentals made a WORLD of difference, in all aspects. Got them at DiscountTire. They gave me some credit for my stock tires, plus getting $110 back from Continental, so about $700 for a set of top rated tires.

Even researching the OEM Bridgestone Dueler H/Ts, you’ll see their ratings suck. Yes, the GX is on a truck frame. I get it. But wow, the new Conti’s bring it back to reality as a Luxo-barge.

How bad is the road in your neighborhood? I’m kidding.

How many miles did you get out of the Oems before saying f’ it I need to visit discount tire?

I thought the Bridgestone handled the Yosemite, Mammoth and Big bear snow very well last year.

thanks for the review. I will be shopping for new set of tires by the end of the year.

300 miles on the odometer. Bought it new. Immediately felt the “suck”, and swapped them. Most of my vehicles, when I buy, I find them not very good.

‘’I don’t off-road. I travel about 2600 miles per month, mostly Highway. Comfort matters, plus, in winter, it’ll have the chops to handle whatever.
