I have the Continental Terrain Contact A/T and like them a lot. Great traction, surprisingly quiet. One thing though when I switched from the OEM Michelin’s my gas mileage dropped about 2-3 miles per gallon in town and only around 1 MPG on the road.

can you tell a difference in comfort/ride quality?
I have the Goodyears Wranglers with Kevlar. While I do love the quiet ride and grip, they really lack in the aggressive appearance. I only went with them over the BFG for weight savings, but kind of regret I didn't go with the wranglers in M/T. I think the BFG's would last longer though, the Goodyears compound feels soft.
I just ordered a set of Falken Wildpeak in stock size for my 4Runner. They look great, get great reviews and seem to be a real bargain. I hope my research is correct, I will report when I get a few miles on them. I did not get the E rated ones, but the SL ones for better on road ride.
These look nice!
I think most people reported rubbing with the larger size up 275/65/18 at the inner front bolt for the runningboard. How is your speed on the odometer? Is it matching with GPS?

Ride is about the same, a little more noisy but well worth it for the traction. My OEM tires hydroplaned enough to scare me into replacing them at 24K. Have not even had a hint of hydroplaning with the Conti's.
More specifically, I’m looking at getting a set of the 7 spoke 4Runner trail/FJ wheels. They are 17x7.5 with a 15mm offset while the stock GX wheels are 18x7.5 with a 52mm offset. From what I understand this will mean the wheel will be about 1-1.5” further out from the car.
Anyone ever switch to these wheels and can share experience such as rubbing issues or does anyone have any photos of what they’d look like on our trucks? I’ve only seen pics of the other FJ wheels with the round holed ones.
Im open to other suggestions but I really like the oem wheel look and don’t want to go aftermarket. The trd pro wheels are nice but are near impossible to find and might as well get FN for what people ask for the oems.
I would not trust spacers of any kind on my vehicles. If you end up with a mechanical failure at speed you can and will be held liable to any damage or injury to others. Not to mention putting your own health/safety in jeopardy. As for correct offsets get a wheel that fits correctly. You also have the option of buying some used GX460 wheels out of a junk yard. Just inspect them before purchase to make sure they are round and not bent. Doing this could save you some money.
Yea I don’t trust or plan on using spacers. The stock wheels are something like 52mm offset tucked way into the body. I want to go down to 17’s with some lower offset and figure the 4Runner trail/FJ wheels would fit the bill. I’ve seen them on several 470’s but not on any 460’s yet.

I feel the same way about spacers. Those are great looking wheels, I have them on my 4Runner Trail Premium with stock size Wildpeaks. If you do put them on your GX definitely post photos.
